2022 Mach z versus 2022 Arctic cat thundercat weight

So I'm bored and YouTube popped up a video on the fastest sled according to some magazine. So they say it's the thundercat which now you can get electronic power steering with. So for s**** and giggles I thought I'd look up the weight. 20 minutes later I'm googled out and I got nothing. I see the Mach is around 550 lbs but I'll be damned if I can find the weight of the arctic crap.I love how they won't list it in any of their specs on any of their sites. Does anybody know?

So, what is the proper way the weigh a sled than? We have folks in this forum claiming you can’t hang them, and some saying you can’t scale them from underneath. 🤷‍♂️

The proper way is to not weigh them and believe what Mother Doo tells you. Why would they lie? They are never wrong!
The new 850 turbo R for ‘24, with SHOT start will be lighter than all these sleds…and Will bring with it just as much, if not more power as the Mach/900R with a lot less weight…watch out!
Don't hold your breath with the xrs for the 998 i'll just remove the 6 pack from the trunk and we'll be within 1 lb, really funny
does the weight difference really matter on trail sleds ride what you enjoy its like woman do lighter ones ride better than heavier ones just ride what ever one you have
bigger is better , do you want to feel every bump on the road or kush kush

So you’re saying the ‘24 XRS 850 Turbo R will be within a pound of the 998 TCat? Now that’s some funny sh*t!

Nascar weighs their cars from under each tire. They don't hang their cars from a scale to get a weight. I'm thinking they might know something about weighing cars. When they lift the sleds they should be level. For some reason this may be throwing the weights off. Putting pressure on the scale somehow. Nascar has been weighing from under each tire for years with no issue.

This makes perfect sense. Somehow these weights are way off.

And no way ever is the new MXZ XRS 850 TURBO R gonna be as heavy as any T Cat or Sidewinder…not even remotely close. Take that to the bank. That’s the beauty part of this sled…turbo hyper power without the Weight.

No disputing that it will be lighter but will not have the tq or hp of a winder, $31000cdn for 850r so after 6000 miles what will it be worth? Getting way to pricey for most.

Nascar, and every other racer weighs them that way because corner weight and bias is important.
It doesn't matter if the sled is parallel or not with a hanging scale as long as the entire sled is off the ground. That's physics.

The excuses you guys come up with are hilarious. I have yet to see anyone else on the internet prove the ST weights wrong. It seems someone would by now.

Bottom line Harry…the 850 Trail Turbo gonna be way way lighter than any Sidewinder or T Cat, and lighter than a MachZ/900 Turbo.

Horsepower may not be too far off of (maybe 10 horse) a stock Winder. This thing is gonna Dyno higher than 180 all day long. I bet low to mid 190’s is where this thing settles. Take that and the substantially lighter weight of the Doo compared to a Winder….And it’s not far off a Stock 998.

I realize most folks don’t keep the 998 stock, but stock to stock and it’s very close all things considered.

Also, it’s(Doo 850 Trail Turbo) substantially less money in the USA….more than $6000 less compared to Canadas $31,000. But I get it…the prices are getting a lil nuts, but if you have something relatively new to trade in/sell, then the price is not quite as unreasonable. But ya…these things are getting very expensive.
Well I hope the best for the 850r.

We'll have to see once it hits the snow though. History has shown the first year release is not always a smooth one (Mach Z, Poo Boost).

Yes, but they sure dont use bathroom scales.
If you watch the video, they show the sled being lifted and you get to see it being lifted off of the ground all the way and then they go to the scale. The boost and sindwinder they don't do this. You never get to see it being lifted off of the ground. They show them being lifted and then the screen changes so it looks kied they paused it and then go to scale and then you see the sled swaying in the back ground so you think it was off of the ground. The other sleds the zoom in so you know they were being lifted off of the ground. Why did they do this?
Again, common sense should rule the day. 2 stroke 850 turbo significantly lighter than any 4 stroke turbo period. That’s all one needs to know on that subject. The Sidewinder and T Cats are very heavy machines…they’re powerful but they are heavy. 850T gonna be way lighter than those for sure, and lighter than Mach/900T too.

Eactly. No way there is only 20 pounds different.. Just drive one. Look at how the front end nose dives when they pick it up
