What ever happened to the kids 10-18 years old sled. Smallest hp engine is probably the 550F at 68hp. At these 2016 outrageous prices, I wonder how many Sleds they are selling each year in the last five years, compared to 10-30 years ago.

What year was the most Sleds ever sold?

A $500 Sled in 1972, in 2015 dollars is $2,835.13

We found a few 15 leftovers this year within last few weeks around 5300-5500

If the 16s got down to that within next few weeks that would be great

Buy a good set of shocks that you can recycle from sled to sled and that would make sledding a lot cheaper and ride a new sled every year.

Yup 30 years ago I was making $9 buck a hour...compared to $60 now

I could hardly afford a 1978 340 Olympic back then and I don't remember many rides that something didn't break on one of the sleds ...... a 50 mile ride was a big day.

New Sleds are made from Steel, Plastics, Aluminium, and are made with Robot's, High Speed CNC machining centers. If you really knew what it actually cost Skidoo to make a Sled, it would probably make you puke!

$9hr in 1972 is like $51.03hr in 2015 dollars. So your doing well. I was making $3.50hr in 1972 in 10th grade. Minium wage was $1.60hr in 1972. When I graduated in 1975 I went to work at a factory for $3.50. I made just a little over $100,000 in 2015. At $3.50hr a 40hr a week job made $7280 a year. So a $500 New Sled was in the grasp of the average guy. $7280 in 1972 is like $41,279.52 in 2015 dollars.

Yeah, please tell us. I'm sure those high speed CNC machines and robots aren't cheap for them to purchase either.

No not at all lol

Architectural design is my line of plus run a small construction company.

I work for every dim.... who said running your own business was all fun.....dealing with some people these days and baby sitting employes.......Getting out on the sled is what makes it all worth it.

Nothing is cheep anymore and with our dollar tanking we are seeing things increases up to 35/40% I feel for those not making good wages. Snowmobiles are out of reach for many but i don't think they are over priced compared to other moter sports.
