I am hoping there are some other riders with the 800 Iron Dog that have done some clutching and gearing or both. I am seriously not happy with the top speed at WOT. Love the way it handles and the suspension is better than my '14 XRS(Except for the adjuster on the rail) I did buy it used with 750 miles on it. The clutches needed a cleaning and it runs RPM's at 8,000 sometimes at 8,150. I am just not that happy with the top end. I am a trail rider, no off trail for me. The stock gearing states 25/45. I was thinking of changing it to the same at the 120" sled and go 27/45. I know with the longer track it may be an issue on fuel mileage and effect the hole shot. Geared up my '06 Renegade and lost fuel mileage but still came out of the hole well. This sled is studded, 3 per window down the center. I am 6 ft tall and weigh in at bout 240. I could drop 30 pounds and maybe gain 2-3 MPH. My riding buddy still has his '14 XRS and can take me after about 60 MPH and pull right away. Give me some advise.
