I picked up a summer project sled today. Looking forward to tearing it down and bringing it back to life. Only has 140 miles on it.
Needs a whole lot of parts. E-mod, S-mod, pyramid bars, upper A-arms, spindle, ski, front bumper and lower plastic pan, left side panel, clutch cover, exhaust pipe, secondary bearing support, motor mount and probably other misc parts. I estimate $2500-$3000 should get it back in working order.

As for the the damage and what might of hit it.. Two seasons back a guy missed his turn and slammed into me head on at 45ish mph. I had a 1200 at the time and the damage looked almost identical to this sled.

Anyhow nice score! I've been looking for a build like this for along time and haven't found anything worth it yet. Nice to see a build thread though!!

The tank was shifted up and to the right a bit. There was a small gap between the tank and the tunnel on the left and there was no gap on the right.

Need to have some welding done. Two cracks where the engine mounts bolt on.
The engine is at a machine shop being repaired, should have it back next week.

I saw that when I was looking at it and checked with the machine shop to see if it could be repaired before I bought it. I almost passed on the machine when I saw the crack but the shop said it can easily be fixed. Talked to another good welder I know and he also said that can be repaired. Sent the new mounts with it so it can be lined up perfectly.

Make sure the engine has no hairline cracks in it. I had a cousin who purchased a Nytro in similar condition and it slowly lost all its oil and went boom.

The local dealer here has a 14 TNT 900 with 1700 miles for $8200. With 4000 into it and 3000ish in parts plus your time, you may not come out on top.
