I bought this sled recently and had a few questions about it as snow season is fast approaching.

1. I know it has like a 10.5gal fuel tank under general/normal riding conditions how many mpg should I average so I can better plan for a trip

2. where the spare belt is under the center of the hood it looks like the one end rests on or very close to the muffler, is that a concern I'm used to the older more traditional sleds that had a belt cover and the extra belt was mounted on top of that.

MPG will depend on your thumb, but you can expect around 12 mpg, if your easy on it 15 or a tick more is not out of the question. The spare belt location is really a non issue if you get in in there correctly it should not touch anything.

FWIW, yes I did have a 2010 gade 800ptek. Hopped up some, but not crazy. Very fast sled in stock form for a gade. I would get with mine anywhere from 9mpg to 17mpg. It all depended on the thumb factor.
