I just bought a 2009 ski doo 800r Ptek with 1,080 miles this past weekend! Super excited but I want to know what mods make a difference in performance and also for maintanence concerns. I was told of a "torque arm" to buy for the engine? I guess it makes belts last much longer? Any thoughts??

I've also seen on ebay a lot of random brackets that look like there to strengthen the frame/chassis? Why do I need all this stuff for an almost new sled? Help anyone?

i havnt heard much about a torque arm, but that would be a good mod if your sled is a belt blower.

one of the good mods to do for both reliability and performance is a set of boyesen rage cage reeds.

The stuff to strengthen the chassis is cheap and easy to do. doing bracesusually saves alot of parts that are a pain to change if you do actually hit something

I wouldn't worry about the braces they won't save you if you smash it hard anyway or torque arm, unless you are blowing belts. Make your life easier riding it with the post fwd mod, update your intake -cover the stocker in the sock with the 2012 version so you are doubled up for protection as they are prone to sucking in snow and ice-if you don't it will cost you a motor eventually like it did me if you ride hard, & chop nuts etc. Bondi box sounds good but most people I know didn't notice a difference- I run one too but wouldn't buy another. Easiest performance gain for you is a head, super easy install and easy 10-15hp gain. I have an engine tech head for sale if you are interested, worked well but I use a modified stocker now with my 872.

So the 2012 air box is a good thing to buy? What is a bondi box? what is "post FWD mod"?
