2008 Mach Z

I know the 2007's are just coming out, but I want to see what peoples opinions are for the future. I had a 2005 Mach Z for a year and had to sell it so I could afford to build a snowcross sled. I am climbing out of the $$ pit and am looking ahead. I plan on running the race sled again this year and spring checking a 2008 Mach Z. So if anyone has an opinion on whether the 2008 sled will have many changes or if I would be better off buying an 06 or 07 lets hear it. If you do reply can you please keep the sarcasm out of you comments (I am aware the 2007 season has not started yet). Thanks for the info.

Well, if history repeats itself, the '08 will sport BNG. You see, the '93 thru' 97 was basically the same sled although they did marginally bump displacement in '97 along with a new suspension. '98 showed a redesign but that basically carried over until discontinuing in '03. Look at their bread and butter REVs, basically the same since '03.

You be the judge, history often repeats itself, especially at BRP.
I got this answer from two different BRP employees last spring at Munising "2007 is nothing but BNG-2008 will be a 1200cc Mach Z"

What does BNG stand for?

that do be sweet, if it happens but 1 question will the "1200" cc engine looks pretty much like the 05-07 engine block? hope it still retain "doesnt overheat" very easily , man 1200 twin SDI sounds very interesting to me!
supposedly the 1000 motor was developed as a 1200 to begin with. 210 hp or so-hopefully they have the MPEM programming figured out by 2008!!
I heard about the 1200 Mach and a DI (Direct Injection)motor as well. I just hope they get my 06 running right.

I wouldn't bet on a 1200 although you might see a new engine design.
My money is on massaging of the 1000 similar to the marginal gains in the 800 twin over the years, in order to stretch out the tooling life.
Last year someone posted this photo of a engine that was being considered. Sorry but I forgot to note the name>

Yes Sir ,is't Petronas GP 4 strokes engine produce 225 HP and more
I would bet on a high HP four stroke before a 1200cc two stroke.
if anyone was to do a patent search ,you,d see a patent for a 300 hp turbo owned by brp...!!!watercraft or sled?????
A 4 stroke 3 cy supercharged engine in a new RT chassis. 215 hp. Acceleration would be scary.
They are going to have to widen the trails in New England if they come out with a 200+ hp stock sled.
BRP is only interested in building clean burning 2-strokes, Yamaha had the dream of putting a 4-strokes in a sled 30 years ago. The company to watch is Mercury Marine, they build hi-perfomance 2-strokes and 4-strokes with Eaton Superchargers. Now put that in a sled how bout 300hp 4cyl 4-stroke with a supercharger.

and theres Evinrudes 2-stroke E-tec, 250hp, 25% lighter than equivalent 4stroke, 3year engine warranty, zero maintenance for 3 years...dream on
seadoo already has a great 4 stroke supercharged engine,I have owned one for 2 years and it is 215 hp would make super snowmobile engine has to be better than my 05 mach.

BRP should take care of us the bought 05, 06, and 07 Mach Z's before they worry about 08. I am still waiting to see this sled perform like it should. Hopefully we will see new update before the snow flies.
