Recieved a "free" 2003 renegade 600 ho from the father in law. Mint shape but compression was low. 75/100. Did rebuild with wiseco kit. Did compression test cold after re-assembly. Getting 60/125. When dropping left cylinder on, ring pushed out a bit and slightly bent down a bit. So I took it off and just with my hand I straightened it. Put it back on and put cylinder on. Not sure why I thought it was a good idea to continue. Anyway can we agree that the ring is likely the cause of the low reading?

Likely yes... the rings have to float "Not stick" to make good compression.

Also look at your reed valve on that side for cracks or chipped corners.

Thanks. Will do. I'm hoping the jug is still fine. It's only got 5000 original kms on it.
