Finally have my sled running after rebuilding and replacing the entire fuel system. Have a mechanic working on it and he’s somewhat stumped. Sled keeps losing spark after running for 10 minutes or so. Coil is brand new.

Could this be the stator on the sled? Does this sled have an ECM? I don’t think it does. Anything else it could be?

No ECM, but it does have a Ignition module that is basically a CDI box and yes it could be going bad.

Stator and cdi.

As mentioned I'd be checking/replacing the cdi if you have trouble shot the rest.

Maybe get yourself a sled mechanic because if he's stumped already then there's an issue.

I did not realize that you could get a 500 cc version of the Formula Z. Two friends had F chassis versions and 1 upgraded to a '98 Formula Z w/ the 583.

I owned one too, that was the first sled I ever owned from new. I remember snow checking it for $4,800. Purple sled with a soft purple seat.

So it ended up being the stator and the CDI.
