I just picked up a 1998 Summit X 670. I am assuming it is a HO? So many different posts on this topic. Some say there will be a X stamped on the head but mine has a D stamped?? The 98 670 Summit X was HO right?? What does the D stand for?

The 98 Summit did come with the HO. Two temp sending units not one is an HO.
The things stated so far are a fact the easy thing to recognize a 670 ho from a regular 670 is, the tuned Exhaust Pipe on a Ho dumps into a suit Case silencer the one on a regular 670 has a Round can that has a flat top! The Summit X 670 ho also has vents in the hood on the left side the regular 670 don't! if your still not sure remove the Carbs the regular 670 has 40 mm Carbs and a dual stage throttle, The Ho has single stage and 44 mm carbs!
