new to the site ( and sport) and my buddy bought 2 1984 elan 250's for $150 at a auction, turns out that they were always the sherrif departmets
search and rescue sleds. but anyway he wants to put handwarmers on them an i was wondering if the stator can handle that.

I tryed it on mine i had, it was a 79 Elan with slide suspenstion, Lasted about three rides and then had no head light or tail light, because i burnt out the coil inside the engine. just when i needed it the most. So i say i won't try it again. They really where only built to handle the 55 watt head light and the 20 watt (if that) tail light. Got to remember hand warmers DO steal alot of Juice. The only thing saving me on my 3500 is the fact i have a battery installed and charging.
