180 mm 440 wheels on 05 X

I picked up a set of 180 mm wheels from an 05 440, I'd like to put them on my 05 X with the SC4. These sleds run different sized axles ( I think), so can I just switch bearings?

Yes the '05 and '06 440's have larger axles than std. SC-4 sleds. I am pretty sure you can just switch bearings so the stronger 440 wheels will fit in smaller axle of SC-4 that comes on a X. I just switched to the larger axle on mine as the stock SC-4 stuff on X sleds is very weak esp the plastic spacers and wheels...
you need to find the correct bearings. the 6004 bearing has a smaller OD than the 6205. This prevents you from the simple swap!!
If I can accurately measure the OD diameter of the 440 bearing and the ID diameter of the stock Sc4 wheel bearing I should be able to take those numbers to Napa and get a bearing, correct?

Pardon my ignorance here, are those #'s ski doo part #'s or are they a bearing id #?
yes, you need to contact a bearing supply house and tell the you need the OD of a 6205 with the ID of a 6004 to see what they come up with for a bearing #
I thought I would follow up with the information I found so that maybe someone reading this someday may find it helpfull. The bearing needed is a 6304. This has an OD of the 6205 and an ID of a 6004.

Anyone know of a good/cheap place to get bearings?

Napa was 48.29 for double rubber shield, 31.49 for single. I have not taken my wheel/bearing apart yet, so I'm not sure which I need.

Edit: Ebay has them for $5.00...

If it were me I'd get the NTN Blue bearing if available.

I looked at Dennis Kirk yesterday, they don't have the 6304's that I need. I'll try your link and doing some more homework on my own.

Thank you
