Hey guys! Just picked up a 2012 Freeride 800ETEC, Its got a P1428 code for its exhaust pipe temperature sensor, after phoning skidoo and pricing out a new one and checking everywhere locally for a used one, I stumbled upon some info that its the same sensor as an EGT sensor for a 2011 Duramax and then just Merrett the female end from skidoo on, problem is, I have not a clue which sensor, people just say its a GM sensor for the Duramax, but theres no part number anywhere. Chevy dealership was no help. Anyhow, I found similar sensors on Amazon for $30 (compared to skidoos quote of $450), i was wondering if anyones went this route or has the Duramax part number. Ill include pictures of them, they are all 1/8NTC Type K Thermistor sensors for Exhaust Temperature.

Of course id love to replace OEM with OEM but they are insanely expensive for an generally inexpensive part.

Amazon:

I notice the probes look slightly different but it should'nt matter if it threads and uses the same Type K thermistor.
Thought i may as well give it a try before forking over half a paycheck for a relatively useless sensor?

Also I have already replaced my can exhaust temp sensor, they are much cheaper. Thanks!

Plenty of threads on this. Here is one, and you can search and find several others:

(FWIW, a 'type K' refers to a type of thermocouple. A thermistor is a different device. I believe from all the discussion that this is a thermistor. So be careful what you read in the eBay and Amazon ads....)
