Get Big Thunder Nos, way more bang for the buck. My porting did nothing so far as i can tell. But i usually make sleds go slower when i work on them.

He told me he's had good luck with what he's done and said it really makes em run better?? done several for
guys out west, any sled he's ever done for me ie: 670 mach 1, 01-800x both rocked!! just like my stuff to run! what's your take on this remapping into the low 180's?? sounds like it's one of those to good to be true
things in life huh? ------time will tell i guess

Gordi told use at Haydays the new mapping will not make more hp. It is for e-rave consistancy. He told my dealer the same thing too. Doo holds the key to giving it that much hp , but will they use it?

Running the Big Thunder What did you have to do to your clutching? I am running big Thunder to this year But dont no where to put the clutching to. How much wieght, which ramps to use, secondary helix? I have cudneys clutch kit in my sled with his fancy helix and wondering if that would work for the secondary.I am running the 2mm overRollers to. Any idea what I should do for cluthing before I hit the snow?

Use dave and dales clutching.
I have just bought a mach and want to know the results of porting, who does it and who has been happy with it

Kinda figuared you'd say that. What does their kit include? Does it include any secondary helixs?Or Ramps? That isnt asking to much information,is it,What is the cost of their kits? Canadain?
Their add doesnt tell me whats included in their kits.

I have a Mach Z waiting in the wings to be ported right now, but I am waiting for BRP to get the bugs out of it first. I figured it would be best to get them to run well stock first and then come up with a mod package. From the things I have been reading on here what works on one does not work on the next. As soon as I see some consistancy in the performance of these units I'll break out the grinder an see how they can be improved. Just my .02. Dave.
Remember that unless you are adding a fuel controller, porting will do nothing at best, and more than likely slow you down. If you are porting it, you NEED to add fuel. NOS is your best bang for your buck, but lets face it, you cannot use it all day long without the hassle of changing and filling bottles. Plus, NOS runs $4.75-5.00 per pound...and you can burn through a pound of NOS in 10-15 seconds.
I was wondering about DOMES. what is the differants in Bills domes and Bikemans Domes? If any. Which dome produces more increase in horsepower without having to port the cylinders?
Arent most domes within let say .5 HP of each other or does nobody know if there is a differants at all.I have bills domes and didnt notice any topend performance increase.

The Mach is capable of maybe 190 hp or so with stock porting with the right pipe/s and all other things being perfect. Our Mach porting/heads/pipes package is in the 195hp range. The stock porting is not the problem with the Mach, it's getting the potential power past all of the sensors and to the crankshaft. Plus the stock clutching is not that great. If you don't care about keeping low end power the Mach can produce 200 hp with more peaky twin pipes and porting more for peak hp.

I have heard of the dyno runs having this much power and IF it is trail safe why do we not see real world results on the lakes and trails and ice during the winter. I have seen many a ported sleds and on the gun they have shown NOTHING better than my stocker. Has ANYONE done as you say and gotten it past the sensors and to the ground and remain trail safe.

Spike,
Our goal this year is to build, test, and tune a ported and piped 195 hp set up for the average trail guy. It's no secret to the experienced sled engine tuner/builder that the most mid range works best in the trails and peak hp means very little. The current aftermarket twin pipes offered for the Mach supposedly give up too much mid range to be great trail pipes according to some very good clutch tuners. They do however make more peak hp over the stock pipe so with the right gearing and clutching it WILL be faster, just not quicker.
We are dynoing our new pipes for the Mach hopefully this week. We should not give up too much mid range hp compared to a stock pipe and should recieve a respectable gain on top. Hopefully this will be the best all around set up offered to date.
I would not expect to see much if any at all extra speed from just porting alone. So far I'm not impressed at all with the Mach's clutching and think there is some speed with gearing and clutching alone. With some new found ponies with porting alone I would gear it and clutch it to make use of it.
For the guys that still want to keep their beloved Mach Z but are feed up with the stock electronics we have plans on offereing an aftermarket ignition system for the Mach that eliminates all of the sensors and allows the user to program the E-Rave opening rpm to suit their riding style. The system will likely cost between $1000 to $1400 and will come as a plug-n-play system. We will get this system tested as soon as snow permits.

NOW THATS THE KIND OF UNIT THAT I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR!
I think that unit alone will finally wake up the Mach. When this unit is avallible will it come complete with all instructions and examples on how to set the mach up for its best performance for topend speeds and short drags?I am definatlly interested in buying one of these controllers,If it works.

Like Bill Cudny has said on a few machs he has modified,He changed the eraves to open with RPM and changed the ignition system made those sleds run true and some to its advertised HP on the dynos.Oya he put carbs on too,But I still think this is the answer to the Doos ECU problems....

Wallingford Racing ???I dont know if you want to give away any secerets I own 2CP in CT
and we have been playing with an MSD total loss ignition with carbs is this what you are talking about??
