So just installed the GPS Module for my 23 Skidoo with 10.25 " premium gage, and down loaded software and maps updates.
I shows the trails (Without and identifiers and labels NO Points of interest or fuel or food) unless you hook up phone and run the BRP App.
Is this normal?

Both Pics are with Phone connected.

Unfortunately I believe it is. Our 2025 sleds with embedded maps are not the same maps you get when hooked to the go app from what Ive seen as well. I finally just got my 2025 gauge to the point where I think its functioning correctly but have not had a chance to ride with it as of yet.

When you get out please try it with maps with phone connected(BRP Go) and then with without and please post back your thoughts and weather the trail names and any other things are in the built in (sled maps without phone) thanks

i just got my module this past week and took it out this weekend for a cold weather rip.
while i wasn't overly concerned with playing with the screen much in the -30c air, it definitely offers less features than with brpgo running it which isn't any surprised as they've been very clear that you're going to lose some functionality running phoneless.
Provided the user has the maps that apply to your riding areas loaded it does what it is supposed to but i think like most i'll still be pairing the phone for anything more than quick little rides anyway.

So when you go from the sled alone to plugging into your phone/goapp. Does it just flip over to the phone then? or do you need to do anything else?

So just for context, i've never had any issue with the gps or the 10.25 in general. It's worked whenever i have followed procedure. My maps work and my gauges work. All i'm doing here is touching on user issues for the best experience.
The only gripe i could place on the screen is the rider tracking which i'm still unsure whether it works or not. Again procedure is meaningful with these things.
That being said, most of the noise comes from people that don't even own the screen and i have to wonder why they make so much fuss about an optional piece which if you bought after 2023 you pretty much knew what you were walking into.

The two times I have used my GPS I think it has worked fine. I would like to figure out a way to keep my screen locked north, every time I start the sled I have to press the compass to lock north. Also having trail numbers on the screen I guess would be nice but I don't find it completely necessary. Now restaurant and gas stops would be nice. Skidoo is making progress and hopefully they continue to add things to the GPS in the future.

One things for sure, Polaris didn’t nail the gps down in a year either. They are on year 10 maybe now and keep improving it by the year. If Cat is actually done next year, maybe BRP should jump on Garmin and get that system, especially if it’s effective on the Cats this season.

The phone should be charging. It did on my 22 version when I used it, but I don't connect to the app anymore due to it being so buggy and frustrating. Constantly loosing connection and would never reconnect without stopping and shutting off the sled and reconnecting if it chose to.

So from my reading into this it is both phone and cord dependent as far as i understand it.
Due to the outlet that connects you to the 10.25 not being a USB-C the best we can expect on phones that are 2 years and newer is maintenance of the charge and at worst a loss of 10-20% charge when connected to the sled.
Androids seem to experience that ranges from less loss than the apple phones experience to actually being able to charge the phone fully. I suspect that has to do with the Android connecter remaining unchanged through different generations of their phones.
I'd also read that when communication systems (Cardo for example) are connected by cord they also seem to just get battery maintenance instead of actually charging.
Hope that helps.
