Who's running one piece suits for trails, which brand, insulated/uninsulated,and pros/cons? I think there would be more mobility in one of these with much less bulk?

We've been running mono suits for 5 seasons now. FXR insulated and non insulated. Super warm without allot of layers, mobility on the machine is very good. You can get insulated liners for the non insulated suits. If you want to go inside a establishment then tie the arms around your waist ...

One con would be more messing around if you have to take a smash.. But my wife pees trail side and doesn't have a problem...lol

I tied the arms around my waist for a day then decided it was just easier to remove the whole suit when we stopped. It's a lot more comfortable being in my sweats and a shirt while eating.

No regrets lol

I started last year to ride with a FXR mono insulated with F.A.S.T. for safety as I sometimes go on large body's of water.
The suit is great for heat and manoeuvrability, one CON is that the legs are out of proportion to the harm and top for me.
Top fits well but the legs are a little long so it bunches up in my belly, but I don't feel it when riding.

I've been running monosuits for several years now. My original/first year Castle X Freedom insulated monosuit is by far the best one I've had and I still use it for quick testing trips through town. One of the most important things for me with the monosuits is the thigh/leg zippers. Not many are a full waist height zip, which makes it harder to get the suit on and off, harder to access your pants pockets (paying for fuel, locking truck once you've got gear on, etc), and not as ventilated when in restaurants.

My Castle X is quite worn after 4 seasons so I decided to try an FXR, only one model last season had the full length leg zip. The $800 FXR Ranger Instinct insulated I bought is junk and I have no intentions of buying another FXR product after this disappointment. The leg/thigh zippers are not cut up high enough and are on a terrible angle so it's extremely difficult to get into your pants pockets with the suit on; most of the zipper rubber pull tab thingers have ripped off after half a seasons use; the wrist gaitors are too short and dig into your hand; it's significantly bulkier without being much warmer, just all around is in no way worth the money.

I've tried on several Klim suits at shows and dealers and they fit quite loose, and the leg/thigh zip doesn't go up as high as I'd like. I'm going back to a Castle X (they only offer non-insulated now) for this season and will be layering underneath the shell as required.

I have a Tobe uninsulated, and I loved the fit, warmth, and venting. Great for very cold to spring warmth, just pick your correct layers, doesn't take much. I never feel bulky because you don't need the extra stuff. They just need bigger pockets for today's large phones.

I'm using the Swedish "underdog brand": Jethwear

1x Shell: Jethwear Freedom 20k (Left)
1x Insulated: Jethwear The One 10k (Right)

I would say that they are of great quality for the price in comparison, at least over here!..

I just like there designs, mine are 19 & 20 I believe something like that.. These are basically there two designs.. It varies in color from year to year! some year you like the colors and some you don't!.. Personally I like that they are designed/made in "Östersund Sweden"

I don't really have anything negative to say about them! I'm sure others have so I leave that one open!

If you want there high end stuff checkout the "Endurance 45k" line, they also released there 23 line like yesterday! So I guess chance of finding good deals on 22 is high right now!

I just bought a new un-insulated jacket for this season, but I may consider a suit for future seasons. I didn’t know so many folks are rocking them on the trail. I did look into the Tobe suits. Those look good and I do see how the zipper all the way to hip would be nice. I imagine the suits fit well over a Tekvest.

So, this is directed more towards the people that run a heated shield for trail riding. If you run a cord for your shield where do you place your cord, then?? Right now, with my jacket I place my cord inside on the back side for my Oxygen Helmet and then run the cord out the front on bottom of jacket. Wondering what other people are doing if you have the Oxygen Helmet. Thanks
