Is it possible that some of the 1000's have different drivers.IE 9 or ten tooth. I dont know the answer just curious.I know they played that game with the 800 and the 151 & 159 had diffrent drivers which of course need diffrent gearing.

All the 05.5 151's are 23/49. I believe you will climb better with a 21 than a 20 on the 05.5's , they revised the clutching on the 06's. Cheers, Rene.

How was i suppose to know the 05.5 had 23/49 gearing, my dealer sure don't know that secret, why does the 151 track have a 23 top? Does the 162 track have a smaller driver?

My sled does have a 10-tooth driver, I have a used 21-tooth gear i will test thsi gear first, and I trust the advice of Rene....... even if he is French, lol

The 2005 and 2006 Summit RT 1000 , has an 10 toots driver with 21 top gear. Which is the correct gearing for calibration at 2000 feet and up, if you whould be driving at sea level or below 2000 Ft like we DOO here in Quebec whit our small bump mountain then BRP calls for service bulletin 2006-2. Dealer then change the top gear for an 23 toot and reposition the throtell position sensor .They also put in an egt probe in the silencer and change softwear to reprogramed fuel delivery .That's what they did on my friend's 162 inch sled. The 05 mach z 1000 dit not came whit the egt but recall them. The 06 mach z 1000 were born whit it.So Summit who ride in trail should DOO this mod specialy if it hesitat around 5500 rpm.I would suggest you put havier pins to, this will prevent over rev's , 18 grammes part number 417 222 594.Sorry for my Englich I ham French 2.

I too have a 05 summit 1000 151 and it has the 23 tooth top gear was well. It also has 10 tooth drivers. Talked to the dealer to see if he would put in the 21 tooth top gear at no cost. No dice.

I have a 05 RT 1000 i am running a 19 tooth top gear, 49 bottom, precision can blue marble oil. yesterday at Island Park it was running 92 MPH on the trail. and holds 8000 RPM in powder. had to have the oiler adjusted last week and the throttle linkage, the oil comsumption was way high . yesterday it went from full to 3/4 level on the tank. and got 10 MPG. ran great all day.
