Products: 10,400 REV, RT, and RF snowmobiles sold 6/7/05 through 11/9/05 by Ski-Doo dealers nationwide. Suspect vehicles might have missing weld on steering column, which could lead to loss of control. Also recalled are 1,800 Skid-Doo REV500 SS, REV 600 HO, and REV 600 HO SDI snowmobiles sold 8/05 through 11/05. With these, cracks could appear in starter ring gears, causing them to break at high speeds. Either condition, poses risk of serious injury or death. There have been no reports of incidents or injuries resulting from any of the problems.
What to do: Because many models and serials are involved, visit www.ski-doo.com to determine if your particular snowmobile is subject to recall. The company is notifying all registered owners directly. If you have an affected model, stop using snowmobile and contact any local Ski-Doo dealer to schedule an appointment for free repairs.
