Hey there! I have an '03 Summit 800, and the thing started running a bit gutless, so checked the compression, and was down to about 135lbs. Assuming it had worn rings, cleaned the nicasil cylinders with steel wool and a little injector oil, and installed the new rings. Ran great at start-up, about 145 lbs pressure, made 4 warm-ups/complete cool downs, and after a few hours ride a few days later, thing is running gutless again, and pressure down to about 138lbs. What is going on? Pistons are fine, cylinders have no scratches etc. This was a used sled, maybe the thing got to hot once and warped the cylinders out of round?
Any input appreciated.
