  1. Mach Z RT and MXZ 1000 SDI Models
With the RT coming out of storage there are many common problems with the 600HO SDI. Some of the similarities are the Electrical which is nearly identical with the exception of the ERAVE. The Fuel System is nearly identical with the exception of the 600SDI (2005-2007) having a pulse driven...

I have 2 x two stroke engines that need a rebuild, a 797 (800R) and a 995 (1000 SDI) that will be done among my local group. First off is a closer look at the 797 (800R). So far it has lasted many years without a hiccup. A closer inspection upon removing the clutch towards the end of the the...

This topic will be dedicated to the Internet Engineers. Enjoy the show!

Have you ever checked the clearance between the piston and cylinder? I checked a few sets of used OEM pistons and most measured close to 3.4557" with the exception of one at 3.4537". The measurements were taken below the wrist pin and in the same the direction.

What do you think of the new 850 ETEC engine? Will it change anything for us 1000 SDI owners? Technology advance for two stroke is a wonderful thing. Yet we do hold an advantage in the sense that the 1000 SDI has lead to the 800R, the 800R ETEC, and now the G2 850 ETEC. We know the problems...

Why was a new MachZ engine put into an MXZ frame?
  7. Mach Z RT and MXZ 1000 SDI Models
Got a 2005 MachZ to get ready for a trip. It has everything a MachZ came with from factory back in 2005, nothing more not even a gauge. Will it survive the trip or should anything be changed?
  8. MXZX Race Sleds
The sled still starts and runs, but the gauge cluster shows no life and the head lights are not turning on. Owner did a few things at the same time before this happened. The ECM was unplugged to get the part# then replugged, the relay pigtail was moved so it would no longer rub on the tps...

The following are Troubleshooting and Tech Tips for the Ski-Doo design of the Single Fuel Pump System. This design was for shallow REV/RT fuel tanks. The problems were related to manufacturing. The question on everyone's mind is most likely why was this system changed for a dual pump system...

The following is from the 2007 Ski-Doo Technical Update manual P/N 219 600 015 2006 RT SERIES: SHOP MANUAL CORRECTION FOR 995 ENGINE The type of grease to use on the 995 counterbalance gear has been revised (ref. page 82). An improved more liquefied type of Isoflex grease called Topaz NB5051...
  11. REV Chassis - Performance and Trail Models
This has been a great forum inspired by lots of members who have taken their time to help each other out. In the last 4 years I have learned a great deal from you, and I wanted to give a different opportunity that we normally don't see for the 600 SDI or any two stroke. Normally the members are...
  12. Mach Z RT and MXZ 1000 SDI Models
I just got off the phone with Jim from Dynotech Research to renew my yearly $30 subscription. A lot of interesting things are being planned this coming season for the ETECs. Since the MachZ is becoming a second sled for many, I figured you would be interested in meeting-up at his dyno facility.
  13. Mach Z RT and MXZ 1000 SDI Models
This is the first time in the history of this forum that we have three Summit topics back to back and at the top of the forum. This one makes it four. There was a time when the MXZ had no place until one considerate moderator made a positive change to hook us up with the MachZ, so why not add...
  14. Sledding - General Discussion
Have you ever wondered why so many 2015 owners have said their 800 ETEC were far superior and super smooth to the previous years? Maybe a graph of the HP losses and gains over the years can give us a hint. The previous graph doesn't do justice when it comes to the difference between the 2015...

After scouring through countless web sites looking for good solid information on gasoline, so far the most informative ones I found were from Chevron, RFF, UFA, some shops like AA1car.com and Wayne's Garage, E15 tests, and the News. The aviation is a great resource but it can get complicated...

There are a great number of references across all two stroke forums and web sites warning that too much oil will cause a lean burn down. But has anyone ever experienced this? Obviously an accumulation of carbon deposits runs a high risk of pre-ignition or foul the plugs, but I'm only wondering...

I was browsing through my last BUDS report when I noticed how hot the air and coolant temps had reached. Even the low and high voltage was surprising. The results were in the native Ski-Doo language, so I added markups to help.

While thinking about how to make our engines more reliable: Piston seize - Priority #1 Cooling (coolant and air) - Cooling system must be bled of all air. - Cooling pump needs to be in good condition. - If temps appear abnormally cool, then it is likely working right. - Head needs to be...
  19. Mach Z RT and MXZ 1000 SDI Models
I want to applaud all of the members of the past 2014/2015 season who survived with the same or rebuilt engine following a failure. It doesn't matter to me what upgrades you did or did not Doo. What matters is that you made it, and will continue to survive another season to support the forum...
