AmericInn in Munising or White Pine Lodge - Preferred Location?

05 February 2020 - 09:14 AM

A group of 6 of us currently have some rooms reserved at White Pine Lodge, 2/8-2/11 (Tuesday-Friday).  We chose this because we have stayed here a couple times and its nice to have the Casino and restaurants across the street.

We are also considering staying at the AmericInn just east of Munising instead.  Is there a specific location that makes more sense based on where we are going to ride?  Or does one offer nicer accommodations and restaurants near by?  We drive through this area often int he winter but would like to hear from those who have stayed and ride in the area during the week.  Thanks.

Holiday Inn Express Lakeview in Munising - Trail Access?

05 February 2020 - 08:46 AM

Have considered spending a few days in the Munising areas and staying at the Holiday Inn Express Lakeview in Munising.  (E8890 M-28 , Munising, Michigan 49862).

Can anyone speak to the access to a snowmobile trail and trailer parking at this location?  I know the trail connector is across the street at a minimum.

Thanks!

Hand warmer Replacement Options/Sizes

21 January 2020 - 03:27 PM

Happy Winter!

I am replacing my handlebar with the ProTaper bar that comes on the Polaris assault.  I prefer that feel over the stock X bar.  The stock grips that are on my 2016 X are around 5.75" long with the hand warmer length about the same.  My issue has been I just don't like how little of room my hands have on the grips with the current length.

I purchased Polaris grips and they are 6.5" in length and will fit my hands much better and give me more room.  The issue I have now is the stock hand warmer is shorter than that.  Can I run Polaris hand warmers?  I am unsure of the wattage and was hoping someone could help me figure this out.  Which SkiDoo or other brand hand warmers can I use to accommodate the longer grip length?  Are the G4 chassis hand warmers longer?

Thanks.

Handlebar Options for 2016 XS

13 January 2020 - 03:08 PM

Figured I would try my luck here as well.....

On my 2016 1200X, I have the original handlebar.  This year I continue to feel the overall bar width is too small and I am sacrificing turning leverage and control.  I also don't care for sweep length and position.  The handlebar width seems to be at 31" from the ends of the bar where it hooks down.  Ideally, I would want no hooks and utilize the hooked part for additional grip space.

Has anyone changed their bars to so something wider and if you did what bar have you used?  Have you been able to save your hand warmer elements and just have to get new grips?  Would be interested in seeing what other setups folks have.
