Reading this actually put it in perspective...I’m mad as hell and probably won’t sled this season, there are none available...

but you’re right I’m alive....

good decision to wear my tekvest that day...

Best of luck to you. I'm just glad you're alive to deal with the insurance end of it, MUCH better than the alternative...

I’m lost..I use mine on a single enclosed...and put it on from either side? No flipping the hook....just hook it and go...have  they changed the design or something?..

Right now i'm just venting here, I am beyond ticked off...if you were the dealer wouldn't you say "we screwed up, bring it today and we will get it looked at"...instead they said "that sounds bad, we can look at it, but its' 3 weeks turnaround.."

It gets better, Insurance is talking about a depreciated value...so i had the accident in March of 2020, the sled had 1500 km, 3 months old...now they say its 12 months old....so if the dealer had written it off in March...I could have spring ordered...

Can't wait for 2020 to end...

#23304693 KYB Pro 36/40 vs Elka Stage 3

Posted by Zekester on 03 March 2020 - 08:00 AM

I'm pondering upgrading my stock non XRS shocks...For the front, I have a line on a set of rebuilt Pro40s, rebuilt Pro36s (more $), or new Elka stage 3 (more $$)...

Opinions? I run a 2020 backcountry 600  with widened spindles, 146 1.6" 75% trail,

#23301055 2020 backcountry 850 electric start

Posted by Zekester on 01 March 2020 - 10:42 AM

It happened yesterday to my friends 2019 850 BCXRS, we jumped the solenoid, nothing, it's the starter, we started it with the rope...

I have  a 600, i'm putting the $200 recoil kit on it....it's great if warranty covers it, but $200 covers the PITA factor...

#23172807 Abitibi loop on one tank of gas!

Posted by Zekester on 31 December 2019 - 05:16 PM

Made it from The Moose motel in Smooth rock...to Canadian tire in Cochrane...on one tank of fuel...

Fried the stator on my 600X, so borrowed my friend's spare sled...a 600 ACE...and made it around with 2 bars of fuel to spare...even climbed a hill or two, and got majorly stuck in the canyon...

best comment as I was pulling out of the canyon there was a group there, one guys say "that guy's on a f**** ACE"!

#22623033 Cheap GPS

Posted by Zekester on 05 January 2019 - 07:18 PM

After checking out a few posts, and PMing a couple guys, I came up with another poor man's GPS...

I found a Garmin 6" GPS for $50 on Ebay, $10 for 5 waterproof LED lit switches also Ebay, $30 for a Garmin power cord, $35 for a waterproof case, and some stainless to make the brackets...

I don't like all the room the extended glove box takes so I made a mount, the GPS is tucked in behind the lower windshield, and the bars don't hit it. The bracket is bolted on using two existing bolts, so I only had to drill the hole for the power cord. The LED switch powers it up, wired from the battery, I can easily unzip the case to remove the GPS when needed...

I just need to get a chip and I'm all set...

Surely they can shoehorn this into a sled? : )
