#23566181 Windshield ?

Posted by andym2001 on 21 November 2020 - 05:03 AM

have you ever seen a cross country race or the Iron Dog?

XC racing and trying to stay warm... nothing beats the high windshield. You can mash Moguls just the same with this as I can with the bikini frame only. f90a8478cd209f8804436b2bdb8a9e1d.jpg

Swisstrax or one of the click together floors works well. I drive in and out with studs once in a while. Otherwise, wheels roll good too on it.

#23434205 Full face vs. modular helmets

Posted by andym2001 on 02 July 2020 - 11:29 AM

Follow-up question...I found an HJC RPHA 70 in matte white (w/limited black) that I really like. For those who have experience with matte finish helmets, how are they to keep clean regarding bugs and everyday use/handling?

Through my helmet research, I've discovered that (statistically) white is the safest color of helmet and provides the best visibility which is my main priority. If matte finish is a PITA to keep clean and looking new I'm going to go with the solid white in gloss finish.

Thanks again for the info guys, I appreciate your input!! :)

My bike is matte. F11 is your friend.
My Schuberth is silver gloss.
I don’t think I’d buy a matte helmet. They get too beat up with use.

I went with a Schuberth E1 for biking. Good venting, opens easy, installed a com system, works great!

Also run all Klim gear with the protective crash pads.

After my sled crash this year with my Oxygen Helmet, you won’t see me wear anything but full face and all the gear all the time.

Congrats on the wing! I had an F6B a few years back and now ride a BMW K1600B. d6a598bdd92a1ccdb1f8a9842de79141.jpg

#23284133 Just lucky to have a first 600r issue.

Posted by andym2001 on 21 February 2020 - 05:42 AM

Could be, i am in white pine mi now, i will check when i het back to ohio lol. It runs too good to be serious. I am guessing a bad coolant temp sensor or a wire rubbing. Just wondered if anyone else seen anything like this.

If you head to Bergland, Timberline Sports will take a peek at it. They are fast and efficient to keep your trip moving. They just won National Dealer of the Year.... for good reasons.

Sorry to hear about the issues. These 600’s just plain rock.

Not to rub it in, but... my wife and I are expecting twins. Dad had one for the other grand kids, I got busy looking for another here in MN. It took a search, but dug one out of the woodwork just 15 min from home. [emoji41]

#23257677 Bad glare for oxygen helmet

Posted by andym2001 on 09 February 2020 - 09:10 PM

I have to say it’s NOT a pile of junk. I was in a bad wreck about a month ago wearing my oxygen. It saved my life. It cracked on the rear edge. For it being a lightweight helmet it’s tough as hell. Doctors said they’ve seen more brain trauma from lesser crashes.

Dealer support has been second to none for me. Haven’t had issues, but my dad had a bad lens.

Everyone has their opinion about things. There are two sides to every coin.

Stay safe out there guys!

#23121949 Klim Warranty

Posted by andym2001 on 04 December 2019 - 05:08 AM

I’m a Klim ‘whore’ - have way too much of their stuff and have warn out jackets, bibs, poked my own holes in thing when trees fight back etc... most damage is my fault.

Opened a warranty claim on my GTX BOA boots for broken BOA lines. Not sure entirely how they broke, although I suspect my own foul play, tangling them up in the toe holds of my XRS.

Claim approved, although I personally didn’t care if I had to pay for it as it likely was a self inflicted issue. They are expensive boots! My 2nd set in 3 years. I wear the soles out of them as my running boards chew
On them. Never have had wet feet or cold feet for that matter.

I’ll continue to be an unpaid ambassador for their gear. They do a heck of a nice job!

That said, Skidoo also has provided great service and support for their gear. I don’t think either are superior to the other. B

I saw 108 down the heartland trail at the park rapids race. Should be quite a bit more on Ice.

I blame auto correct.

#22827409 2019 600R RPM fade On clicker #5 - Clutching ideas

Posted by andym2001 on 29 March 2019 - 08:01 AM

Ski-Doo left quite a bit on the table in making the 600R better in almost all areas of clutching. Smoothness, acceleration, backshifting and even downshifting.

Clutching is always a work in progress, the sled is still telling me it needs something different. When it stops telling me that. We will have something!

Nick - your kit in my sled completely woke it up. It’s a new sled.

Check in with Tweener for next years kit.
