Update your profile and tell us where you are from Newfie. There just may be someone close enough to you to come check out what issues you may have going on.. Seems as you could buy a pretty decent sled for $3000
Shoot Dang ZR, I was trying to do initial timing while engine was still on the bench and the head was off. once I put the head on and rolled it .076 BTDC those lines matched up perfectly and then I set my rotary valve to 145 and 71 degree's. I put the engine back in sled and got most of everything hooked back up and bolted down/installed but then the phone rang and I was asked to come into work tonight for some overtime $$$. Tomorrow Morning i'll finish things up and align clutches then i'll fire it up. I'll update on how it goes tomorrow. At least this rebuild gave me a chance to clean 17 years of crud and sludge out of the engine bay. I'm also going to take my heatshield off of my Pipe and wrap it with exhaust wrap. I can't stand that dang thing rattling anymore.
The sled is no good anymore. I'll buy it from ya haha....As for chain tension the shop manual says: "Fully tighten tensioner adjustment screw by hand, then back off only far enough for hair pin to engage in locking hole.
I in no way bashed anything or anyone. Now you're sounding a tad immature here. I said if you want a quiet machine buy a four stroke. Two strokes are meant to be heard. I grew up racing MX. Sorry if I hurt your feelings in anyway Sir. And yes Trippy. When it comes to different types of sleds I am very uneducated. Not saying I wouldn't Want a chance to jump on one of these Turbo Four bangers because I would love the chance. 250 HP sounds like a helluva good time to me.
