#23837799 Doo adjustable Windshield

Posted by Fritzn' around on 07 April 2021 - 12:35 PM

I was torn also but l've decided to set up a high standard windshield/side deflectors/base and just swap between the two depending on weather conditions. I do like the concept of the adjustable version, though.

This works fine if you stay close to home, but we go on 3-5 day trips & many times the weather changes a lot from one day to the other. Also I find the mornings can start out very cold , but by 2pm it's really warmed up on sunny days. The shield is fully up in the morning & down when it warms up. The 4" of difference makes a big difference.

#23837209 Electric Reverse on most 2022 sleds now.

Posted by Fritzn' around on 06 April 2021 - 07:43 PM

I did hear at the doo show that the entire e-reverse system has been redesigned for 22 and they were confident that there would be no issues.

Is it even possible to convert this system back to a manual lever like we could with the older systems ??

#23823167 Turbo Dynamics Tune

Posted by Fritzn' around on 27 March 2021 - 09:47 PM

Thanks for all the info, tuning my sled is longer needed, rather than going to the service department to get a tune,  I went to the show room & got a new sled 2022 XRS 900 Turbo Renegade. Exact same sled I was riding in 2021, just a year newer.

And if you want it lower Hygear sells a kit that has a spacer & a small tender spring set up that will lower it, as well improve ride quality. Have a look at the spring set up in the front skid shock for the track, this is what your front shocks will look like & it really helps the ride in the smaller stutter bumps. It's also a cheap mod to do , about $100

For old guys like me  that have hard times posting pictures , an upgrade for this would be very helpful for me.

At this point I'm sure all the dealers are just guessing as to when the sleds will show up, way to many possibilities to try & figure it out.

Is he using different injectors for a true 188 HP tune?

He told me his 188 tune is a intake mod, muffler mod & a tune, that's it  & takes him about 3 hrs to do.

#23797003 180 Tune back to stock for trade

Posted by Fritzn' around on 13 March 2021 - 08:57 PM

Let's say the guy that buys it knows it had a tune and has engine issues and takes it to the dealer. If the owner of the sled has a good relationship with the dealer, couldn't the dealer still file a warranty claim? Or does BRP verify every module that has a warranty claim filed against it? Just wondering...

As long as it's not an engine problem most dealers, mine included will still give you warranty without any problem. If the engine had a failure , that's a different story as BRP can ask for a BUDDS report from it, showing VIN with lots of information like max boost. They know they don't run there engines with 16LBS of boost so that's a dead give a way it's been tuned.

Having said that my dealer tunes sleds and told me if I have problems with the sled all they ask is I bring it back to them........ and don't ask why, so it sounds like they are willing to try everything they can to help me. I think that sounds very fair to me.

If its ever been tuned BRP can tell , even if it's been put back to stock. Very few of these engines seem to give trouble with a good tune, my take on it is you might as well leave the tune in, at least the new buyer gets the extra power from it. If the engine goes down they have no warranty now, with or with out a tune.  That is part of the problem when buying a used sled, especially if it's the second owner now selling, who knows what the first guy did.

#23794637 2022 prices are insane??? No $500 diamond credit.. What to order?

Posted by Fritzn' around on 12 March 2021 - 02:14 PM

FYI.    I just got off the phone with St Onge Rec and they will not take any more Spring Break orders as of noon today.

Yup I was told the same, about $7000 OTD to trade up to a 2022 XRS Renegade 900 turbo, mine only has 3600 KM, that's costing $2 a KM to ride...............  I'm be keeping it at this price!!

#23791087 Exhaust cans for the 900 Turbos?

Posted by Fritzn' around on 10 March 2021 - 02:46 PM

Zero tolerance for it in QC. Not just a fine they ask you to leave the trail.

In Quebec you will get a fine, be escorted to the closest road & have your sled towed on a flat bed away, not driving it home & all of this is at your expensive. Kind of like driving with out a permit $ 575 fine for that & you will pay on the spot.

#23790255 Anyone ridden a 900T 130 yet

Posted by Fritzn' around on 09 March 2021 - 11:26 PM

63ssrev,   you talked about putting a 1.5 Ice Storm track on the next sled you will be getting. I have this track on my 2021 XRS 900T Renegade and here are a few things to think about. It's not  like a studded track for traction but is definitely enough for icy corners when things get slippery. It is a paddle track so it really helps letting the rear of the sled be a bit looser side to side,  which helps when turning & cornering. It also is very good when conditions are loose, it hooks up  good & really shines in these conditions.

On the down side, this track sucks some speed off of the top end, definitely even more than a track of the same height in a finger track. After about 145 KM ( 85 miles per hr )  it starts to become more apparent, but I'll pay the price for lower top end for the hard pull it gives in just about all other condition's.

About 6000 miles on this track & it still looks like new, & I'm not easy on tracks.

Thanks for all the input, one of the members  ( Lusemeat81 )  on here lives very close to me & has offered to help tune the sled for me.

People talk about the primary spring 120-300  who makes this spring ? I thought it was  Dalton but I don't see it on their site..

Just did so more reading & I'm thinking of the Dalton 120-280.

I think the spring I asked about in my first post was for the 900 N/A, I got things mixed up as I have a turbo.

#23776241 options for higher seat?

Posted by Fritzn' around on 03 March 2021 - 04:03 PM

As far as I know there is no way to raise the seat. I bought the heated seat from doo for my XRS, but it is no higher. I had tried  to install an aftermarket heating element under my factory seat & it  malfunctioned burning a hole through the cover, this is why I then went with the heated seat from doo.

Some people talk about taking the seat to an upholstery guy, but if you look at how the cover is now installed today, it's stapled all around the edge on the underside & there is no extra material left if you were to try & raise it up.  When I took my cover off the first time it's very tight going back on & if you were to add more foam I would think it would be next to impossible to get it back on, doo has trimmed every bit of extra material from this cover.
