I just swapped an 2009 120 to 137 R Motion just had to move the rear brackets along with drilling the front holes.  The hardest part is grinding and drilling the rivets.  Have new cobalt drill bits.  Even if you grind the head off you will also need to drill.  The R-motion I installed was off a 2016.

Has anyone put a rmotion into a zx/schassis? I'm thinking of upgrading my 136 sc 10 to a set-back 129 rmotion

It could be done, but doing a set back 129 would be trickier trying to get the measurements vs going with a 137 Rmotion. With the 137 Rmotion you'd just need to measure back from the driveshaft for both bolt holes and measure down from the tunnel. Might have to make a custom mount for the rear.

Not sure how to figure out a set back 129" though. I'd have to see a 137 and 129 sled together to figure it out. Have you checked in the zx forum?

Im going for a 129 because the suspension is designed for a rider forward position. Moving the skid back will mimic this. Also I ride off trial alot and a shallower track angle is beneficial. I figure if I get the center to center from the axle to front arm then front to rear arm and the distance from the top of the tunnel to the mounting holes I could make it work.

I think the guys on the FX Nytro were doing something similar to stretch those. It'll definitely work, just measure 2, 3, 4 times and rivet once!
I've done a few swaps and only messed up once but was able to make it work with limiter strap adjustments but that's not ideal obviously

When doing this kind of swaps I found it beneficial to get the correct center to center distance laid out on a piece of 1 x 1/16 metal  and then bolt this template  in the front hole and the correct distance will be right there for the rear bracket. Use the same template for the other side and its all straight.

Just swapped a120 Rmotion into my wifes 2012 TNT. Very easy swap, just needed the rear brackets from a RMotion sled. Really happy with the way it turned out.

Going to stretch my son's '12 TNT to a 137". I would like to do an rmotion, if I can find one for a decent price.

Monster, I already have a pair of your revalved skid shocks in my '10 XRS. I've been thinking about this swap so I'm thrilled to see this thread. Can I reuse my existing shocks or do I need new ones?

I spoke to Ian about my shocks and it's a mixed bag. The center shock is specific to the Rmotion and my shock can't be lengthened to work. The rear shock can swap between the two skids but will need to be revalved. I'm trying to use the QA adjusters so that's a no-go as well. Of course the spring adjuster came loose and is now leaking fluid that'll need to get filled or bled. My '10 XRS is also a bit different from the pictured sleds. I have a steel brace inside of the tunnel where the bolt hole reinforcement plate is pictured. My sled also doesn't not have the second front hole other machines had. I removed the reinforcement plate from the 2016 donor tunnel and this plate has the two holes in it. I found that by removing the two rivets which are adjacent to the bolt hole on my sled I could use the holes to locate the reinforcement plate. This will give me the location of the hole that I need to drill. At the risk of screwing up the hole location I might have a transfer pin made so I can locate the hole center.

so with all this r motion swap talk does anyone have the measurements for a 137"?

1.Ctc of suspension mounting holes off the tunnel
2.From center of drive shaft to center of front suspension mounting hole
From top of tunnel down to center of front & rear mounting hole .

I learned that it's not that simple.  I also learned that this is not a direct swap into an XRS.  My suggestion is to order the replacement brackets and forego trying to salvage them.  You can get both the front and rear brackets from the dealer and they're not expensive.  The brackets will have a couple of shared holes so they'll line right up.  Drill the missing holes and rivet them in.  My XRS needed to have the front running board brace replaced which is one of the reasons why I was struggling with the swap.  The second reason is the salvage yard gave me an XS chassis and that chassis uses brackets which look similar but are NOT interchangeable.
