The boggan factory is in full swing. Well it was, now I'm stalled waiting on bolts!

Red Rooster the Tivar "sleigher". I think I'd have a hard time making the first cut into a sheet of that, but I'm sure I'd get over it fast. Are your aluminum racks actually two racks to allow for flex between them?

Looking good. Keep the pics coming.

One solid rack 5 feet long, strategically placed on the sheet where it isn't required to flex much

By strategically placed...you mean the middle?? LOL  I was looking for your old post on this project but can't find it.  I noticed some flatbar bolted onto the tivar about 3/4 of the way back the rack.  Is that a join (2 sheets??).  I thought it was one solid sheet.  Maybe it's something else because there is a similar contraption on your race version (tivar instead of flatbar)).  What's the plan for the runners?  I see one down each side at the edge of the rack, but do I also see 2 shadows of additional runners under the rack.  That'll obviously be the heaviest part that makes snow contact.

BLR, my one will be available for periodic visitations as long as George doesn't get his hands on it  :laugh_old:

Should be up this way some time over the Winter, hoping to try it en route to Crystal L.

RR, great work on these.  You are pioneering some good ideas here.

If RR can't kill it, it should last George at least one season!

It really should tow like a dream.  The CQ 2011 version was awesome so the rigid section (rack) should give it just enough of a backbone for regular SWT duty and cut down on any tail whip.   I look forward to seeing it in action this winter!

Maybe that's not flatbar, but cut down angle.  Make that peice steel instead of aluminum, leave it 1/4 inch longer than the thickness of the Tivar and that sucker will track straight as an arrow!!

It's flatbar, one the older one I had used bits of Tivar, this one I used aluminum but it's just to keep the edge flat. The sheet splice is under the bar between the 3rd and 4th cans. There's no need for any steel runners with a 15 foot boggan, I've towed the 24" one WFO and it stays straight as an arrow. The runners are 5/8 x 1.75 Tivar. For the sheet splice I'm just going to use a couple of track studs pointing upwards along the crossbar.

Here's a bottoms up pic, and one of the rear section where the tent goes. With a little creative thinking maybe a fellow could stack the stove on top of the tent.
