Original owner.

All paper work and key.

Tank will need work.

Track is very nice as well as suspension.

These  rarely come up for sale within 4 hour drive for me.

Nice find, hope you leave as much original as possible. They are only original once!

Looks a tad nicer that my 1 owner 68 OLY Super 370  :D  and to have the original SKI DOO Sled cover is a Bonus. I'll have to wash mine to make it shinny like yours  :righton

Beauty find! POR gas tank liner works very well but you’d need to strip the sled down so you can rotate the tunnel.
Probably only needs a flush though if it’s been sitting inside.

The sides of the tank are usually the fail point on these tanks as they are thinner than the bottom pan.

Great score, that cover looks minty!  If you plan on riding it, you probably need to strongly consider replacing the front and rear sprockets.  If they are original, then they will soon grenade on you.  Especially if the fronts are yellowed and chipped and cracked.  This would be a good time to check and replace all the bearings too.  You're a lucky dood finding that sled in that condition.  Any additional backstory on it?

Very nice. Is it missing the original airbox/carb cover or did you remove it ?

Yes there is a back story.
The original owner passed away this winter and his daughter started cleaning out his barn.
She of course shared stories of her dad and all the fun times she had on this snowmobile.

They asked about me and plans for it.
I shared similar stories about growing up on ski doos with my father and how I am trying to recreate the fun/memories with my daughter, nieces and nephews etc.

She teared up, said she was very happy I was buying it.

It did not have the cover with it when I was loading it on my trailer.
I didn't even know about it.
She brought it out to me along with all paperwork/registration for the snowmobile her dad had kept through the years.
Including maint and parts records.

I said I was going to frame some of it for my workshop.

It was a very rewarding transaction.

I do plan to be able to use the tank with some tips I have received.
I need to replace the drivers.
Bogie rubber seems good.

I have already fully rebuilt the carburetor and corrected some wiring so key and light switch work etc.
It runs great pulling through a remote can for now at 32 to 1.

People have stopped driving by to look at it while working in the driveway on it.

They really attract great conversations, stories...
I am not sure of many other material things that do that...maybe old cars?

They used to have a vintage show in Bridgenorth Ontario. During the polar plunge. Loved it.
