I have friend who is in the bush north of yellowknife looking for a some help via ZOLEO.

No start on an ace 900, expedition LE, 3-4 years old.

Messages:

“He got pinned in overflow last night. Left the machine there for the night. We put a generator on and when it cranks over nothing... might be flooded... but“

“When we touch the gas it scrolls across the screen "brown mode" also says "br" on the console before it says brown mode”

“It cranks... engine is warm but barely catches and shuts off“

I searched the forum for “brown mode” and came up with nothing.

Might be flooded, they say some weird things when that happens from what I have heard.  He could try and hold the throttle wide open when starting it, this will open the throttle body all the way and still allow the sled to start.

Are you sure?
If you hold the throttle open the engine will turn but not start and "drown mode" will show up on the dash

I think it's trying to say "drown mode", it does this when the throttle is pressed and trying to start, back to the problem of trying to start, i know he's out in the bush but a little more information would be nice , ,like how much of the sled/electronics was in the water, it could be simple as a water bummed relay?

Not 100% positive on this. I do know the throttle body opens all the way so even if it doesn’t start it should clear the cylinders of raw fuel.

Maybe he’ll report back, but it sounds like his exhaust was blocked with ice. My understanding is that once chipped away it started and performed normally.

I ran into that issue recently as well but mine did not cause the gauges to say anything.  Just had a no start and it sounded very odd while cranking.  Pulled my exhaust and put it on a camp fire for a bit.
