294ss engine rebuild question

Hey I am in the process of rebuilding my Rotax 294 twin and I have a question about the distance ring on the crankshaft.

This ring slides over the crankshaft and has the seal slid overtop it. Am I supposed to use any retaining compound to secure the distance ring to the crank? I don't want any air leaks. It seems nothing secures this ring on. I will attach pictures here.

You do not need any sealer. The distance ring is crushed against the inner race of the crank bearing when the primary clutch is installed. The surface of the ring and clutch need to be in nice condition. It seems like a strange set up but all the rotax twins with thread on clutches were like that and I am sure they made several million miles

Didn`t mean to double up on ya 70-335, guess I was typing while you were posting
