Sorry to hear that happened.  I'll be following your thread as I have the same model and year.  This will be my 2nd 900 ace sled due to the fact of the reputation of being a high mile engine.  I searched multiple sources which contradict each other on having or not having the 95 hp sled for our model.   Here is one source keeping our sleds at 90 hp. I would be curious of what hp they are:

"At 95 HP in those models, it’s surprisingly spry off the bottom end, and exhibits the impressive torque available from a four-stroke. Skandic, Tundra and Expedition models in the REV-XU chassis don’t get the power upgrade, however."

The engine hasn’t changed per rotax. It’s all marketing. HP barely moved with a different pipe and clutching. It’s still rated at 88hp.

900 ace is a very reliable high mile engine. Dealers here hardly see any issues at all. I have two over 10k miles, I know two guys around 20k miles, and a few others over 10k.

Sorry to hear of your issue.

My 2015 900ACE had 44000 kms and was still running like new until I hit a pole with it and the insurance totaled it.

I'm talking more like a new model 2019 and up.

All 900 ACE Exp Sports since 2019 are 95 hp. They were never in the XU chassis. I lost two engines in mine but blame it on the milky oil in it. Been great since the long block replacement, 2000 km’s.

Did you fine out what caused the rod to go threw the crankcase? Did you loose oil,  oil pump fail is it possible something was in the gas ?

My though is i let my mother use it this winter, short drive in cold temperature in the small village my oil became milky connecting rod bushing start to wear out to a point loosen the bolt, i should of shut it off right after i heard the knock. but people around here do daily short drive  here. the oil pump did not fail nothing in gas tank, and i alway store it in insulate shack, i had a question cause 2021 same model sieze the engine. i wonder if the crankcase is the same as earlier model crankshaft change with p drive clutch.

There have been a number of 900 with bad thermostats and this causes condensation in the oil eventually leading to engine failure, made much worse when the sled is used for short trips.

Triple thumper...

Trying to pin down on what went wrong.
