Took a rip down too Fitzroy harbour on the outskirts of Ottawa to check out the new bridge they built. It’s only for snowmobiles no other off road vehicles.

Yes the did a lot of work to get this done and saved you and me 20 million to tear it down. Big thanks too everyone who helped make this happen. Also I believe Polaris donated a million towards this project.

Its funny how things are done in Ontario. Its great that they found a use for that bridge and the clubs were given the go ahead to work their magic but starting this summer a clover leaf is starting construction on highway 17 at highway 508 (Calabogie turn off) and the MTO refused to talk to the local snowmobile club about the trail that crosses right there. This construction will cut the club trails in half. Designing a way through in the development stages would have been wise and could have been worked in probably economically but now its an afterthought. I can see this will not work out in our favor as I can see them having us drive over the over pass.

How long has the rail bridge over the Ottawa River between Beachburg & Portage du Fort been in use as a sled bridge? I was across it last winter.

You have to wonder if it's who ever is involved with the design process? The tunnel under the 35/115 @ Enterprise Hill has been well worth it.

Speaking of overpasses, I see the bridge in Combermere has a dedicated lane for pedestrians/sleds. Much better than the fiasco on TOP C in Timmins over the Mattagami River. That 'add on' must be 48.5" wide.
