Basically what is happening is after a few seconds at max rpms (~8000) the engine seems to be “cutting out”. Rpms drop to ~7400 and then the engine kicks back in. Also, the more times I rev the sled to max rpms the shorter it holds max power before cutting out again. There is also a bit of a stutter when I’m in some snow and give the throttle a squeeze. (Not sure if that’s related or a different issue)

I’ve tried a number of things and so far have been unsuccessful in fixing it:
- compression 140 both sides
- cleaned rave valves
- new plugs
- new fuel filter
- changed the clutch weights/springs from stock to a prairie kit, moved clickers from 3 to 1 since I live on the prairies
- most recently I took it to the skidoo dealer and they said it was a fuel pressure issue.
- they also ran a diagnostics scan and said there was an ECM code for the raves, but this was after I’d cleaned and put them back together
- Replaced the fuel pump and strainer (strainer was pretty gummed up). Still having the same issue, although I think it holds max power for slightly longer before cutting out now. The strainer I put in was non-OEM and a slightly different size, so I’m gonna try putting an OEM strainer in to see if that helps.

Any idea what else could be going on here?

Bad plug wire? occasionally the plug wires will burn out inside the insulation. Symptoms are start and idle well. Take throttle well but cut out on a full throttle pull.

They don't look damaged externally, but how would you test if they are the problem?

Are te rave valves calibrated/reset after you cleaned them?

Needs to be done if not, i'm pretty sure uncalibrated rave valves is your problem here.

That could be it. I put them back in correctly after I had them out, but I’m not sure that’s what you’re saying. What do you mean by recalibrated?

Have to adapt/calibrate the valves with BUDS or Candoo computer.
Did this on my own sled some weeks ago, was acting exact as yours.
