Sorry for another post on this sled but its becoming a headache. Just rebuilt the top end for a melted piston and put 50 miles on it when the sled blew up again (Lost compression mag side). Last time it melted the exhaust side of the piston but this time it snapped the piston ring. Tiny piece of the ring broke off and chipped tiny piece of the piston crown (mustve broke on the down stroke). HOW?? Cylinder looks perfect. Any input here?
Piston wash looks perfect and engine passed leakdown test held 5psi for 15 minutes and probably couldve held much longer.
I'm stumped and not sure what to do. I used SPI pistons and part of me almost thinks its a defective part but I really don't wanna buy doo pistons for this to happen again.
