Help

while running at 60kmh the engine shuts down periodically.

Once loss of power i pull over, engine still idles between 1000 and 2000 rpm with check

engine motor light comes on.

i shut down the engine let it rest for less than minute and start it back up and run for 100 yards and same thing happens.

i also played in fuse box and seem fuses are extremelly hot to he point of not being able to hold a relay because of heat.

taking all 4 relays out and back in helps the motor not stall a higher speeds for several days

anyone have an idea  what the problem is?

Thanx FRT

yes battery terminals are tight

You suggest to replace large square relay and also one of the small ones?which small one from the 3 ?
Once , we stopped for lunch and when done i hit the start button there was nothing at all,

checked fuse box and removed large relay and small one next to it to access 30 amp fuse.

The fuse was good so i replace fuse and both relays and hit the start button and i had power,

motor started and off we went.

This problem  happened 4 times now that running the engin loses power

Any of the 3 smaller ones will do, you don't need any of those to start and run the engine, sounds like a bad relay or the realy prongs aren't making good contact, a fairly common problem on some 600/900 aces

I was happy having swapped out 50 amk relay but......

Out today and running at 30 km saw my gps loose power,

felt power loss and check engine came on with rough idle

I shut off motor, waited a bit restarted and off i went.

Ran 25 km and did it again.

Suv1 would you have anymore thoughts  if another relay would be bad ?

The only relay that matters to run the sled is the big rely, the other 3 can be taken out and not put back and the engine will still run fine, giving the relay is working fine there's only a few things i can thing off(there may be others) that will make the engine run rough is a blocked oil filter or a bad ground or bad or plugged fuel pump/filter, being the oil light didn't come on my guess is a bad ground point or the battery to ground wire itself has gone bad, this i've seen on a few sleds where the copper has blackened in the ground causing the sled to stop or loose power, this is the reason it's a good idea to add a 2nd and 3rd ground, check clean the ground beside the solenoid as well, take of the crimp washer while your there,  then there's the fuel pump, filters and fuel pressure regulator, what have you done/looked at?

It could 1 or 2 or a combination of all 3 that's causing the engine to bog out?

giz if you have a set of 12v jumper cables nearby take it with you, if the engine acts up again clamp one end to the battery ground and the other to the chassis to see if this solves the problem?
