I have a 2006 Summit 1000 that has been sitting quite a bit since I purchased it a few years back. I have only had the sled out about three times since I bought it about five years ago and did not even use it last year. It has just over 3000 kms on it and is in very good condition but other than fog it down and drain the fuel I have not done anything to it at all. We put a fresh tank of 94 octane and a new battery in it and it was running very well this past weekend.
I plan on changing the chain case oil as it looks pretty dirty and have greased the sled but am unsure what else I should be looking at.
Should I clean the clutches?
Would it be worth it to take the sled into a dealership and get them to go over it?
I want to start doing the maintenance and minor repairs on this sled and the 2008 Renegade 600 SDI that I just purchased as well? What is a good source of information on what I should be looking at servicing, how often, etc. Used to work on my own sleds a lot when I was younger but that was 25 years ago now.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
