Also fyi I called Cochrane opp and health unit.

Both said it's "recommended" not to travel but abide by the safety protocols and you are ok.

Not much has changed folks besides extra fear, intimidation and flat out lieing to the public about stay home/rules/laws/recommendations......

So to each their own. Research, call and make your own decision. That's all we can do. Our government really screwed this one up.

Unfortunately u will never get an answer. Why? Because the government can't. They don't know and neither do the local authorities.

I won't say where I'm going for fear that some nimby on here will cry but I can tell you hwy 11 North is pretty quiet. See you on the trails

Its all confusing and I still think it is going to depend on the officers. Heard of OPP giving tickets (over $800) to people here from Quebec without a valid reason.  Also heard that OPP were at our Walmart checking for people from Quebec. I am not sure exactly what they were telling them, and this is second hand news but I heard from several different people.  That being said, I spoke to a buddy who has been travelling daily from Gatineau to Ottawa and has not had any problems.  I am all for being careful and have been since the start, but we need to know our rights.  Even then, your chance of winning a disagreement during a traffic stop is slim. Pretty much just take the ticket and take it to court.

Just because they can’t stop you just to ask you where you are going or why etc. , doesn’t mean you won’t get stopped and asked, the reason they stop you will just be something else. Light out, dirty license plate, tinted windows, some traffic violation, it’s not hard to find a reason.

I have a couple things bought and need to be picked up in Quebec, that I could do safely with no contact but afraid of getting hassled, don’t need a big fine to deal with.

I could see Quebecers driving to Ontario for the big box stores like Walmart or Canadian Tire. The majority of items for us are sectioned off/closed until Feb 8th. So I can definitely see Quebecers getting fines. It makes sense since this one big effort to relieve our hospitals. By the way it is working. Kids were back to school last week and we will be going back to work and open the big box stores on the 8th, but my guess is the curfew will stick around for another month.

You can't go into Canadian tire and Walmart is blocked off minus the grocery section

Yes, Walmart has restricted departments, but you can pre-order at CT and pick up at the door.

Exactly, if you really want to know how disgusting this is then read each police services release on how they will enforce the order, then watch peel police chief on youtube explain the law.

Spoiler alert they don't clarify the law, they dance around it and talk about "narratives" and recommendations and the spirit of the order.

He is asked point blank and doesn't answer, what is the law? Umm umm ah. Safety, stay home. Its unreal.

Why because there's nothing they can do. Will you possibly get a ticket sure, maybe. They won't see the light of day in a courtroom. What a mess they have created lying to the public. That was their plan, make people confused and scarred and they will stay inside.

I enjoyed 250km of exercise yesterday and will continue to do so anywhere I want, I do it safely. What's better then being outside, packed my own food for Trailside lunch and tap for gas? No contact, except with, squirrels, rabbits, partridge and one fox. Oh and there we're many other people doing the same.

So, I'm still asking a simple question, can I trailer from Windsor to a friends cottage near Huntsville, stay 4 or 5 days, a group of less than 5, ride the open OFSC trails, and return home without breaking the law?

I live in Trenton Ont and wanted to trailer to Bancroft ( 1.5 hours away ) so I called the OPP in Bancroft and asked if this was ok.  The officer said I could only snowmobile in the town I call home and not any where else. <_<

Is that for Ontario?

Don't know about all over, but I am in the north and that's how it works up here.  It's part of why the people in the north are "edit for bad language" off .... we were doing just fine ... zero cases, everything open, all we had to do was mask up and stay apart .... easy-peasey. Our restaurants were open, stores were staffed and stocked, it was life as usual. Then came New Years in southern Ontario and the few .... NOT laying universal blame here .... who couldn't keep it in their pants had to get out  and ruin it for everyone, especially you guys in the south with no snow.  We'd love to have you come and visit, but how do we tell the idiots from the good guys?  Eh?   There are areas in the south reporting hundreds of new cases a week .... we've had 150 cases total .... 150 total since Feb 2020 ... a whole year ... in my region. *%@ ???  What is wrong with people down there?

Again a little more complicated then that.

Where do you think all and I mean all the warehouses, distribution centers and shipping is located? Gtha is where and that is also where you northern people get all your goods and services from.

Those poor people working in the covid infested warehouses are supplying your food.

Stats bare out, work and old age homes is where the problems lie.

Its not north vs south. But it appears the government has done a bang up job of turning citizen's against citizen's. What a world.

Really, that's a nice lie. You should have asked, thank you for the information now can you give the sections that state this for my reading pleasure tonight.

You won't get it from them.

Intra provincial travel is not prohibited just like out of country travel.

Its only recommended. Can't wait for this all to come out. People are going to be very mad.

Why isn't there a wall of officers at pearson airport ticketing all those people flying in/out from Cancun? Easy catch isn't it.

So, just to be accurate ... there's almost as much stuff comes over Hwy 11N from the west (especially from Winnipeg) as from the south.

And if all that shipping coming north is infested .... why are northern cases so low?  You'd think we'd all be dead by now.   And yes LTC is in trouble, but up here the investigations almost always show contact "originally"  with someone who was infected in the south and then community spread took over when they got home.

As far as this paranoia about deliberately confusing the masses .... what a crock.   Could they do better? Yes.  Is it a conspiracy?  LOL ... as if.
