Appears now mount forest drifters have closed trails due to heavy traffic. With no new snow in the forecast things are looking tough again. Geuss we wait and see

Anyone able to give first hand reports of what actually fell in the Mount Forest to Owen Sound to Collingwood region ?
I see a few trails opened up again this morning and hoping to see more of that.

Also wondering about Kearney - Burk's Falls area that looks like they got a bit out of these squalls as well.

No new snow in Kearney/Burks falls. And our trails are closed as of midnight tonight.

Can't beat fun for a good time!

Had planned a run to Kearney tomorrow not realizing that would also be in the lockdown.

Does anyone know of a place to drop in the Barrie, Midhurst area that's on a section of open trail ?

Been a while since i have been down there but i think there is a parking area on the north side of hwy 26 and Bayfield street and the trail runs right beside it, Check the trail guide and zoom in and you will see the spot, maybe someone else can confirm the area is for sure a good parking spot Its the B103C, Hopefully someone from Midhurst of Barrie will chime in on this.

I did do that and it "shows" two places but was hoping for confirmation, or to hear of other places that may not be on the map.
It appears there is a parking lot where you mentioned also, but it's not officially marked on the map.
Thanks for your input though.
Will find a way to make the best of it and get some miles on before who knows what else happens.c8250a2b7ef8bb61e9ff195c0828d9e7.jpg

I’m going to run fenelon falls to Hali and area on Friday. They are due for some snow tonight and tmr night so that should help.

Last I heard was that from Lindsay to Fenelon it should be closed. Pure ice and dirt. But that may of changed.

Anybody else?

There are enough things in life to worry about. Money shouldn't be one of them!

agreed, really quite good. Tons of snow in the fields, the rail lines and winter roads are a little thin, but not bad. We parked in Kirkton, rode through Mitchell, up to Blyth and back around. I've never seen so many sleds in that area before, however, everyone was really good. Lots of room out there for all.

Out of Markdale sat. Partners backed out, lone wolfed it. Talked to sledders at the drop from 15ft away. Stayed well off trail when stopping for snacks . Exposed to no one and vice versa. Trails were good , roads had snow. Scraped a few rocks icy corners. A lot of tight bush trails on the one loop, stayed tight right on blind corners which save my butt a few times.IMG_20210123_1358157.jpg IMG_20210123_1358157.jpg IMG_20210123_1358157.jpg IMG_20210123_1239553.jpg IMG_20210123_1022200.jpg

Rode from Cloyne south and round to the Maze south of Bancroft. 218km trip. Was home for dinner. Lots of sledders out. Trails were well used on the way back.
