Am I the only one that gets picture advertisements on some of the pictures that folks post in this forum? It is very disturbing to be looking at a posted picture and then it gets covered up by an advertisement for about 10 seconds.

I nearly forgot about this craziness since AdBlocker was installed. But I don't expect this to last much longer than it takes Vertiscope to jump on the bandwagon to detect AdBlocker and limit viewing.

Advertising is how you get this site for your use for free.

Though it is annoying at times, it's a small price to pay.

I don't mind ads that are a banner at the top of the page, or down the side of the page.  I absolutely hate ads that pop up and block what I am viewing.  The people who make those ads should be skinned alive.  Those kind of ads are counter-productive because we all are here to read what interest us.  When an ad is blocking our viewing, that ad is blocking the reason we are on here in the first place.  I will NEVER buy a product that is advertised by a popup ad that is blocking content.

100%. The site is unusable without it.

The XP was the most fun sled ever made - but I liked my XR more. The 850 takes it to a whole different level.

I'm not sure how you can stomach it. After re-installing my system I nearly fell over with the amount of adds like being constantly shot with a pellet gun.

Without AdBlocker or equivalent you are essentially giving every site you visit the right to track your every move.

Disable Tracking
With every browsing session, there are multiple firms tracking your online activity and browsing history. Hundreds of ad agencies are tracking your every move. With Adblock Plus, you can easily disable most tracking and browse the web more anonymously.

According to Stanford University research, the EasyPrivacy tracking protection filters are the most efficient of all available tracking protection solutions, and can extend the tracking protection of Adblock Plus.

To enable this feature, open this dialogue and click Add.

I cannot comprehend how any company justifies paying all that money for intruding on what you are doing to try and get your business. I go out of my way to avoid those companies in fact, because they are so annoying!

What ever happened to a great product, supported by great people, who grows their business by those standards? And then the market (we consumers) takes care of them because of that?

Attention companies who advertise: take 80% of your advertising dollars, and spend them on your good employees, provide great benefits, prove your products before bringing them to market, and let us, your happy customers, do the advertising and marketing for you.

We are your BEST advertising, your BEST marketing tool. Start understanding that.
