Intermittent rpm drop problem solved

Meant to post this about 8 months ago, but towards the end of the spring 2020 season, my 2018 850 developed an intermittent hiccup, almost like a misfire.

There were no p codes and so I checked the clutches, cleaned the raves, changed plugs and fuel filter, and ran it with a fuel pressure gauge at wide open throttle, thinking that maybe it was a fuel delivery problem. Dealer couldn't find anything because it was intermittent.

Finally decided to throw my Candoo into the tunnel bag with the wires all snaking along the tunnel to try and capture live data. Have a look. Pretty sure the coolant temp was not dropping from 145f to 35f in 1 second flat.... Then back up..

Not sure if anyone else has run into this but thought I would share

almost looks like a switch , its either 32 or 145 .

Are wire in that harness exposed ?

if you hook up that CanDoo to another sled , what are the temp reading ?
I think that when the circuit is open, it defaults to 32f. Better to go rich than lean... It has a new cts on it now, no issues.

The wiring harness on the pigtail was worn through to the copper strands.
