Here is a pic of my first three sleds. My dad is on the 83 Yamaha Vmax, I am on the 79 Kawasaki Invader and my brother is on the 76 Rupp Rally, good times! My bro and I worked our way up the sleds as my dad got a new one, the next year he bought a new exciter and I was riding the vmax, awesome for a 17 year old kid lol  It looks like my dad is still wearing his old Rupp jacket on the vmax, funny.

Lets see you and your first sled, this should be fun!

Sorry to hear they’re no longer with us. Thank you for sharing an old pic. Amazing to see how far we’ve come in the sledding world.

Old photos are windows to the past.

Sorry to hear about your Father and Brother.

At least you're still riding and carrying on their memories.

First sled I rode was a 68 Massey Ferguson Ski-Whiz. It was a 350 Rockwell one-banger that my Dad bought from his brother who worked for Massey Ferguson in Racine, WI. I used to race cars going down the highway next to our adjacent farm hayfield. There were no trails back then so we would get together with the neighbors in the farm fields and scoot back and forth. We would occasionally travel some distances in the ditch lines. Had to be careful with culverts and posts and carry extra sparkplugs. Actually the Ski-Whiz was well made and more stable (wider ski stance) than many of the other brands at that time including the Ski-Doo. Graduated to a Ski-Whiz 400, which we didn't keep long and then a 440 two-banger with a whopping 38HP. Could actually beat some cars down the hayfield with the 440. After that Uncle Sam called and I didn't really re-enter the snowmobile world until I bought an 84 Yammie SRV in 1983, been riding strong since then.
