So long story short is I got a phone call from my friend's wife yesterday. She wants to buy him a sled for Christmas. He use to be my riding buddy before he moved out of a state. He hasn't been on a sled since 2012-2013ish. His work and life got super busy so he finally has time to ride again. I guess he was hinting at wanting a sled so his wife wants to surprise him. I asked her for a budget she just said not brand new. He's somewhat handy and will fix simple things on a sled but that's about it. So I was thinking 2017-2020 either mxz 600r or mxz 850. I was hoping to get something with a warranty possibly. I feel he'd want an 850 but I'm afraid of the possible up keep. I feel like an 600r is super reliable and easy to maintain, but I'm torn on which one. I need insight on a good quality dealer. He lives in Morrison IL. Looks like Eastland and Tempo marine are the two closest dealers. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated!

Eastland is a very good dealership in my experience, I'm not familiar with Tempo marine. there are a lot of us in this area that drive up to Monroe Powersports in Wisconsin, they are very good as well and just over the boarder.

Tempo Marine is a very good dealer.  Steve is the owner and Bob is one of the salesmen.  I have been buying Ski Doos from Bob since 2004.  Quick story.  Bob owned Moline Boat and Motor for many years until last year he moved to Tempo.  A friend and myself both bought new sleds in 2000 from a different dealer.  Mine was a 1999 Mach 1 that was a belt blower.  The dealer I bought it from was doing nothing to help and charging me full retail on belts.  My buddy bought a 2000 MXZ and broke a windshield right before leaving on a trip.  We went over to Bob to pickup a windshield and he didn't have any in stock.  He went to a floor model and took it off a new sled.  Right then I realized I was buying from the wrong guy.  Our dealers would have never done that for a couple young kids.  That made me dealer loyal.  BRP pulled Bobs Skidoo dealership a few years ago because of corporate restructuring.  To be honest it "edit for bad language" me off. I then realized I was more dealer loyal than Doo loyal.   l now ride whatever brand I feel is the best and have a very good Polaris (Triple E) and Doo (Tempo) dealer.

Its not a big shop, nor does it claim to be but, RJ's Recreational has been good to me over the last few years.  I bought new an Xxc850 a few years ago and they were extremely helpful when I needed the help.  RJ's is in West Chicago.  Don't let the location fool you.  Its actually about 30 miles west of Chitcago.

Find a bigger dealer in Wisconsin or Michigan and get a brand new leftover 19 or 20. I’ve been buying my sleds that way since I started riding back in 03. I found a great deal on a leftover 19 backcountry at the end 19 and then bought the extended warranty so I was covered for 3 years and on a brand new sled, just last years model.

Most years this is a solid plan. I don’t know if there are that many around this year to buy. They seem to be flying off the floors,

looks like Monroe has three votes. I may call there today and see what they have in stock. my dealer has a 19 in stock brand new. I might try to work a deal with them on it. Then I would have to find a way to ship it.

Work delivery into the sale.  Monroe to Morrison is about 70 miles one-way.  If you call, tell Jason Jeff S. sent you.

Anybody else have any experience with Dockside marine in Wilmington , Illinois?
