Hi guys, question for those who have 137" Storm 150 with studs, how much speed did you lose on top over 1.25?

Just wandering, I lost over 5mph on my 17 but I really liked the traction.

I ran a 150 Ice Storm on my MXZ last season and noticed no difference top to bottom. Loose trail was awesome.

Doesn't Joey say approximately 3 mph loss for each additional quarter inch of added lug height?  Seem to recall that is one of the lines on his clutch site!   There are no free lunches... better hookup and acceleration less top end with track improvement.

Why add track to a sled that already is prone to pushing? Makes no sense for a trail rider. Push off trail some, maybe then.

Surprisingly this track doesn't add to that. It really bites exitingcorners, great in loose snow and makes great off trail in our area.

Hi guys, question for those who have 137" Storm 150 with studs, how much speed did you lose on top over 1.25?

. You didn’t say if the 1.25” was with or without studs? 5 mph would be conservative if going from bareback 1.25” to studded 1.5”.

I atways stud my tracks so yes my 1.25 was studded with 96, same as Storm

2017 850 TNT went from stock Rip 1 studded with 96 to storm unstudded, lost at least 5mph on soft trail conditions, very hard pack not so much if any. I still am running

stock 27/45 gearing, am going to go down as per skidoos recommendation to 25/45 or 27/49 to see if it will pull it better.

Storm has great hook and acceleration!

IMO, a 137" with a Storm 1.5" track is much more an off-trail sled than a trail sled. A 129" with a Ripsaw II 1.25" is the ideal trail setup.

I have a 21 129 XRS coming with the 1.25” Ripsaw...is that a Ripsaw 2? Or 1?

The Storm/Ice Storm has 1.5 lugs down the center and 1.25 on the outer edges. I have the Ice Storm it seems to corner nice. Good traction in my opinion. Can't speak to the top end because I had that track on right from the start. About 108 on the speedo last but I never seemed to have the right opportunity to hold it open for a real long stretch. Doesn't feel quite as fast as my 17 Assault 800.
