It’s time to upgrade, and I’m very curious about the 600 EFI engine. I’m leaving a 2007 mxz 500ss and I’m about to pull the trigger on a 2021 renegade 600 efi. What should I expect out of that engine? Will it be comparable to my 597cc? Or will it be more/less? Any input at all on anything about this machine is appreciated! Thanks!

The new 600 EFI is 85 hp vs the 500ss/old600 carb 105 hp.  The new 600 EFI lacks rave valves that allow bigger ports that are restriced at low and mid rpm.  That said the 500ss had pretty small ports to begin with..  but I would expect the 600 EFI engine to be more responsive than the old 500ss due to the fuel injection and small ports.

I assume you have read the following 600 EFI thread on here?  All 32 pages of it of more and less info that  you could ever want to know.

Just make the jump to a 600R...you’ll be so much happier imo. Ya it’s gonna be more money, but you’re getting a whole lot more engine and A whole lot more performance. But that’s Just my opinion.

^^^^^^^I agree with this.   Do it once, do it right!!!  While the 600 EFI is certainly attractive from a price perspective, it looks like you only get a new sled every 10 years or so.  That is a long time to live with a sled that is less than you expected.  While only you can choose what is right for you. the extra money for the 600R is a good investment in fun.

Rarely has anyone ever said that sled is "just too powerful".  LOL.

Exactly this! We are all in different places, and like you said only you know what is right for you. But I feel like you do...go a lil extra and be much happier...especially if you only update once a decade. Just Go for it.

Well that’s what I ended up doing... after some thinking, I handed the check over to the dealer for a 2021 renegade adrenaline 600R! Dreamed of a brand new sled and it’s finally here. Well, after I pick it up tomorrow morning... thanks for the feedback

Wow.  That is great.   I guess we did a good job of convincing you.   LOL.  You will love that sled.

I look forward to checking dootlak tomorrow and seeing a picture of the new beast.  Remember, don't forget to include a shoe in the pic so we can make sure it is authentic.

Congrats on the new sled! I have a couple 600rs and love them. Hope you do also. I like the idea of the 600efi but ride comfort would be greatly compromised with the now 12 year old sc10-5 skid. Great in its day but falls well short of the r-motion. I just don't understand why doo would keep the old skid around. From a $ standpoint it has to be cheaper to slim the skid line up like they have the sled line. I think they'll wait till the sales #s come in and go from there. Sorry to get off track, congrats again!
What was I thinking? 3 sleds for 2 people! Anyone interested in a nice 16' 900ace Blizzard with 2953 miles? Thought I'd ask!
