I bought a used 19 600R XRS and am pretty sure the skis are not stock. I went to put on a 6" shaper bar and move the stock to the outside position and surprise, there was no outside position. So what skis are these? The Pilot R maybe? If so what are the plus/minus for groomed WI/Northern UP aggressive trail riding? There is also a small crack, please see the pics, should I be concerned? Thanks so much for the hand everybody.

The crack doesn't concern me because it only secures the ski handle. If it goes the other direction into the ski bottom then I would be concerned.

They look like the Original Pilot R ski. They were stock on the XRS and RS for many years. I have run them on every Ski-Doo I’ve had since I first got them stock with my 2012 XRS. They are like a milder C&A ski without the arm pump.

IMO the original owner did you a favor there. The crack can be fixed with epoxy as it’s only the ski handle.

The dead giveaway your skis weren’t stock is the fact that the handles are bolted to the ski, not riveted. My guess is they cranked too hard on the nut when tightening and cracked the ski.

The other small issue you have is your front shocks are installed wrong. Your first pic shows the adjuster pointing inward to the ground, it’s supposed to be pointing outward to spindle.

That absolutely has to be my old sled and yes those are pilot R skis. and that crack has been there for 3 sleds and over 7k miles,  I have the original new take offs if you are interested  doodown87 is exactly correct how it cracked.  Unless Donahue's took those shocks off, which I doubt the adjuster must have been my fault when I took the lowering kit off.  Sorry about that.  Unbolt from ski and spin it around and you should be good.  Is it like that on both sides?  I have another set of new pilot R's ready go If these new pilot X skis don't impress me.  Those skis were pretty wore and not going to be on my new sled so that is why they were traded in.

And then again maybe the last owner did not like the rebound adjustment know facing out cause maybe they thought there would be a possibility of the red knob breaking off and maybe they had that happen to them in the past>>>>>Just a thought that's all>>>>>>>

Huh, any other worn out old parts I should be aware of? Whats the deal with the holes on the side of the windshield area, mirrors? The front shocks are weeping fairly heavy so all four are going to Monster for revalve/rebuild and to shorten the fronts.

Nope, you should be good to go.  It was a great sled.  Those holes are from the aux high beams.  No idea what you are talking about weeping?  I'm glad you are sending the shocks in.  I feel less bad about reinstalling them incorrectly. :righton  If you have any other question just shoot me a PM.

A little off topic but can you post pic of holes by windshield area?

I'm about to pull mine off and wondering what to fill the holes with, maybe black carriage bolt?

That sounds like it’s worthy of its own thread.
