I have a 2019 GT-L with a 600R motor.

When the clutch engages at right around 3,400 it is abrupt/not smooth and it makes riding slow a bit of a challenge.  I'd like to change out whatever spring that Doo sells to one that will allow a lower engagement.

Is it hard to doo it?

What tools would I need?

Other than the spring, what else could I change to both lower the engagement rpm and smooth it?

Would it be better to have a shop do it for me?

Personally I would change the ramp to the '20-21 ramp. IMO smooths out engagement and makes it perform better also.  Leave the spring alone.

Goodwin Performance (search YouTube) has a nice video showing how to disassemble the p-drive.  C&T Power sports sells different tool packages.

Yup......what he ^^^^ said. Once you see the video, it's a pretty easy thing to do. As far as tools, Chris over at C&T is an excellent resource.

I'll have to look into it because I know NOTHING about the P drive clutch other than my new sled comes with it.

When going from forward to reverse the secondary helix causes a clunk too..This has been the case since RER was invented to be used on sleds. The helix has to function in both directions. This could be some of your issue you hear and feel.

I would assume you checked belt and defection. If this is not set. It will cause all of your symtoms as well
