Anyone have any experience running lower gears from C&T Powersports?  How do they compare to OEM gears?  Longevity, durability, quality, etc?  In what capacity have you used them?

Looking to run 1 tooth less on the bottom.  BRP does not make a 1 tooth less, only 2 teeth less, as far as I can tell.

I can say, I have never gotten a bad product from C&T PowerSports.

Great Parts and Tools. Great Customer Support.

I agree, he doesn't sell inferior products and answers all questions, email him with your gear question.

The gears Chris sells is from a Top Manufacture, NO JUNK! I have run the gears for years.

Thanks all for the replies.

Do you think a stock 1200 can pull 2 teeth smaller bottom gear (45 down to 43)?  I'm running a 137" Ice Storm 150.

you realize one tooth is only about a 2mph change

1.5 track imo stick with 45

I have a 2014 1200MXZ TNT with stock track, do you thank a 45 T bottom would benefit acceleration out of the hole and at lower speeds?

yeah, I know....just thinking I might be able to get a couple more miles per tank with less teeth on the bottom gear.

Thanks for your opinion.  On second thought, I'm thinking it probably is best for me to stick with the 45 too.  I tend to pack heavy when saddlebagging.

the problem with the tnt is the short track has no traction

so how does more spinning going to help your acceleration

I weigh-in around 260, ready to ride and add my touring stuff prolly close to 300....thinking about a 1.5 track and 45 T lower gear.I'm not one for pinning it off the start but like the corner to corner  acceleration...

Getting a good backshift and getting motor to spin up to 8200 rpm made my 09 shorty a lot more sporty out of the corners.

IMO you can't beat the shorty for it's sportyness in wooded trails. Better top end than my 137 also.

I upgraded the stock 1 in. to a 1.25 track w/3 studs per row. Lost about 6 mph on the top end, 1 in. would pull 107 mph on GPS with same amount of studs.

I'm not thinking about any more lug on the track, don't want the vibration as I'm usually on thin base hard trails.
