It's generally 6-8 months just to get a consult with a surgeon and if they deem your condition to not require surgery yet you start all over.

Knees are notoriously difficult if you aren't "old enough" yet.

Overall though, I think we are lucky to have the system we do.
No system will be perfect for everyone, every time.

Thats just crazy! Wow.

Last sentence, sadly you are correct. Unfortunately far too many uninformed never hear/don't want to hear the first part of your post.

As a wise man once said to me; "if it's free it has no value".

Be careful what you say, our current President works for free.

Just got directed to this thread from MX-Z Man. Thanks for the leads.

Canadians my hats are off to you for biting the bullet so your unemployed and downtroden fellows can have "free" healthcare at your vast expense. I support your system every time I USED to cross the border and go to bars and restaurants and hotels and gas stations when the borders were open. I wonder do they miss our tax money yet?

Thanks guys for all your info on knees. Can't see my surgeon till October but judging from this thread I should hold off until mud season for the surgery - which they have started doing here safely again in Maine.

Please keep your advice coming tho.
