Looking to switch from a BV2S Helmet to a Oxygen this year.  I have read many threads on here and am wondering how do I know I am buying the latest version?  I thought I read that early versions had shield problems.  Also do any of you guys remove the built in balaclava?  I am thinking I may not want to use it.  Lastly any idea what is a fair price to pay for one and where I might find the best price?  Thank you in advance for your help.

Works great, best helmet I own. Some complain but we’ve had no issues.

Must have researched for about 20 sec.  Go through the oxygen threads, there are many comments about the visor stamp 1V8, i believe is one of the originals.  There have been a few new visors released, with other stamps.  You will find many hate (myself included) and many love it.  I went through two visors and one power cord,  helmet returned full refund.  buddies have also had cords replaced.  not a reliable helmet, given the 50/50 feedback, no matter how you slice it.  roll the dice on a $600 helmet, i wouldnt.

Do your research, as stated many hate and many like! If you listen to the guys that like them, they have a few tricks that really work when using the helmet. Nice helmet, was able to wear my glasses with an occasional fog that clears up quickly. If your a trail cruiser, best helmet you will ever own. If your an off trail guy or Johnny Racer, this helmet is not for you!

Great helmets! I wouldn’t mess with the built in balaclava because the helmet is designed to be sealed all around with it.
My wife and I really liked the fact that it’s warm and fog free all the time.
The new e linq connection will make it even better because when you connect your dess you will also be connecting your helmet.
I don't like what I ride because I own it.
I own what I ride because I like it.

Love mine! The best thing that no one mentioned, is it’s very comfortable! No balaclava and no breath mask pressing on your face. It’s the warmest most comfortable snowmobile helmet I’ve ever worn. It’s light and has great field of vision. As far as I’m concerned, messing with the cord is absolutely worth it given the comfort. I’ve been through all the skidoo modulars and will now stay with the oxygen from now on.

Great helment as long as its not cold or snowing.
Comfortable yes, poorly engineered, yes again.
Parked mine on the shelf until they find the fix. Bv2s is heavy and sloppy, but it works everytime.

Complaint after complaint about this helmet and you chose to keep it?  Must be junk..

This is by far the best helmet I've used that needed to be plugged in.  Super warm and the open face gives visibility a huge advantage over every other helmet on the market.
