I just went into the lawn mowing business with my kid. He had been picking up a few lawns to do I. Our neighborhood and was using an old Ferris walk behind with a sulky that he traded his atv for. The Ferris lost a coil and we have about 5 acres he was mowing for me. We went and got a commercial grade gravely a few weeks back and I told him if he got some jobs lined up I would do it with him on fridays because I typically don’t work that day because I work mostly out of town. He landed a condo association at the local ski hill/golf course. 16 units and a huge center circle that’s almost as big as a ball field. It pays very well. I told him he would have to buy the bagger required for the job and he can get his money back when we get paid. He’s saving for a truck and had the money available. He just turned 15 today. He works very hard and I’ll do what it takes to keep him interested in working.
My dad has been in a home for almost a year now with advanced Parkinson’s so our days of projects have come and gone.

The XP was the most fun sled ever made - but I liked my XR more. The 850 takes it to a whole different level.

Well she’s done. Has some small waves in it but I’m going to build a v style scraper box to fix that. Overall it came out decent.

Thanks 6100D! ………… we put down around 60 tons of clay. we have a total of 75ft of clay to launch on. next year we'll add another 25 ft. Now time to keep working on that shut down. we have a huge pile of dirt we're going to move to the shut down to straighten it. then we are going to have to rent a dozer to flatten and remove trees.

Wow, that is a launch! I don't think there is any other surface that compares for traction on a sled. Any idea how many Gs?

I looked at your last picture at 800x600. This means the phone is saving all pictures in landscape or sideways like what used to be known as a regular 5x7 picture. So if you position the phone sideways with the buttons on top, then the pictures will upload to DooTalk with the right orientation.

Well put! No one makes it alone in this world. Family, friends and clients will go to bat for you when they like your work and attitude. Nothing better than a referral to grow the business. Last week I completed another project - non engine related - that I hope to get pictures of. Working on engines is like a break from all the other stuff.

I give Kirsch a lot of credit with any race track he builds. It's definitely a learning curve. We dug a foot deep. Then filled in with clay. We did layers. So it was 2-3 inches of clay. water it. roll it smooth. Then repeat until the correct height. Then once we got the correct height we watered it over night. about 8 hours of watering. Then let it set for 3-4 hours then rolled it non stop until it looked like that picture. The clay took every bit of moisture we threw at it. We got lucky and where able to get 60 tons of blue clay. Man does that stuff love to pack.

Having all Girls it's a learning curve on projects but all of mine can change there own oil , fix a Flat tire and change belts on the riding mower's . The middle girl enjoys working on projects from a Pergola we built from the ground up to the graphics on her sled ...
